monroe co. history buskirk, joseph of jackson twp., monroe co. the family name was originally van buskirk. joseph's father, john buskirk was born in hamiton twp. he married catharine smith, native of jackson, d/o abraham and susan (possinger) smith. he died oct. 1890 age 65. she in feb. 1891 age 73. children, aaron at houser mill, elizabeth w/o william stump of houser mill, abraham, born feb. 29, 1852, died april 13, 1857, joseph (subect), robert of jackson, eleanor deceased wf of jacob stump, lydia, wf of charles heater of pocono summit and thomas, born in jackson, march 31, 1863. joseph buskirk, born oct. 19, 1854 in jackson. in pocono twp., he married maria gantzhorn, who died leaving one child, maranda, born july 23, 1878, wf of clinton h. kautz of stroudsburg and they have one son harold b., born nov. 25, 1899. mr. buskirk married 2nd to susanna fellenser, d/o peter and mary (marsh) fellenser. her grandfather was peter fellenser a native of monroe co. (hamilton twp.). peter fellenser, jr. was born in that twp. march 22, 1808, he married mary marsh, d/o jacob and mary (cress) marsh. members of the lutheran ch. norristown newspapers. dec 16, 1829, married on tues. evening, by rev. conrad miller, samuel royers, one of the editors of the american star to matilda van buskirk, d/o dr. george van buskirk, both of pottstown. march 1, 1843 married at pottstown by rev. h.s. miller, on the 21st of feb. percival p. dewees of trapp to anna elizabeth van buskirk, d/o dr. van buskirk Best Wishes, Geri
