Lehigh County History Dietrich Family I. Adam Dietrich, the second son of Casper (1) son of Wilhelm Ernst, son of Johan Peter who was born in Germany, Oct 28, 1740. Emigrated to America about 1751. His elder brother, Johannes emigrated to America and settled in Greenwich township, Berks county. He was followed by Adam and another brother Casper. He married in 1764 to Maria Steinbach, d/o Jacob. II. Johann Adam Dietrich, oldest son of Adam the emigrant, married Catharine Christ. Children; Johanns born 1795, George died in infancy, Mary (1803-1883_ married Jacob Wessner. III. Johannes Dietrich (1795-1872) son of Johann Adam, lived in the Stony Run. In 1823 he married Catharine, born in Albany township, June 8, 1800 died Sept 22, 1880. Children; Polly who married Daniel Fensteracher, Rebecca (1824-1891) married Johannes Schlenker; Daniel married Catharyn Dietrich; Anna, married Samuel Miller; Maria C., married William S. Mosser; John H., married Polly Leiby, no issue; David (1840-52) IV. Daniel son of Johannes was born in Stony Run. Children; Levi D., married Mary Dietrich, Catharine married Augutus Dietrich and they had Newton E. and Walter; Daniel married Reinhart; Ellen, married Jacob George, Sarah married ___Baer, Charles A., married Louisa Kutz; Mary A. married Nathan Zimmerman II, Johann Jacob, 3rd son of Adam the emigrant was born in Berks county, June 25, 1773 and died in Albany, Jan 1, 1857. Member of the Union Church at Lenharstville and is buried there. In 1806 he married Christina Pfeiffer (1786-1861) they had 11 children. (1) Daniel who married Anna Christmen, (2) Samuel born 1810 died 1898, married Sarah Heinly, (3) Henry born 1812, married Anna Kline, (4) Jacob B., married Leah Greenwald, (5) Gideon P., born 1815, died 1898, married Susan Moser, (6) Solomon P., born 1817, died 1901 married Anna Hein, (7) Polly was born 1819 and died 1900, married Charles Greenawald, (8) Sally, married Peter Kline, (9) Moses P., born 1824, died 1906, married Anna Dreibelbis, (10) Charles P., born Nov 11, 1826 at Albany, moved to Reading, married Kate Smith (11) Caroline, born in 1830, married Peter Krause. III. Daniel, eldest son of Johann Jacob, was born in Albany July 27, 1808, in 1833 he married Anna Christman, born May 6, 1814, d/o Peter. They had 13 children. IV. Daniel, the second son of Daniel, he married twice, 1st in 1859 to Catharine Rubb, d/o Leonard. In 1900 he married 2nd to Lizzie Hoff, of Hamburg, d/o John and Ellen (Gehris) Hoff of Reading Kuhns, Daniel, son of Bartholomew, was born iOct 13, 1766, died Feb 1, 1835. He was a member of Ziegel's Church. He married Catharine Miller, who was born Sept. 11, 1772 and died April 8, 1833.
