Fred B. Arnold, subject, of Womelsdorft, Berks County, PA., son of William and Lizzie (Stettler) Arnold. Fred was a cigar maker. Martin Arnold, the progenitor of the Arnold family in Berks county came on the brigantine "Mary" which arrived in Phila., Aug 25, 1752. It appears he married before his emigration. Among his children were ; John and he had sons, Isaac Daniel, William, Samuel, John, Henry, and Amos; Jacob; and Rebecca, who married Daniel Schneider. Jacob Arnold, son of Martin, was born July 10, 1787, and died Jan 15, 1850, aged 62. He saw service in the War of 1812. He married Christmas Day, 1812 to Eva Catharine Fidler, born in 1790 and died in Fairfield county, Ohio in her 84th year. To them were born 7 children; Eli, Harry who died in Ohio, Lovina who marrid Benjamin Peifer in Fairfield, Ohio, Jacob who married Catharine Moore, d/o William Moore of Reading and died at Womelsdorf, Mary Ann who married Fred. Killis, Daniel and William, twins, William died in Ohio in 1905. (note from me, no pension file (1812) for Jacob. William Arnold, father of Fred D., who was born Nov 2, 1822 in Womelsdorf. In 1857 he married Lizzie Stettler, born May 13, 1832, d/o Francis and Annie (Reinhart) Stetter of England, whose married took place at Pottstown, and later they moved to Bernville. Six children were born to this union, Eva Ann, who married Samuel Kurts, Francis J., of Reading, Catharine who married (1st) Elias Hopkins of Shenandoah, Schuylkill County and 2nd Charles Fausnacht, Sally died in infancy William D., a Womelsdort and Fred D. Fred D., married July 1, 1893 to Annie Good, d/o George and Rebecca (Anthony) Good. They had no children. Rev. War Arnold, Henry, PA Line, applied in Washington County, PA. aged 85y 4m 9d born 10 May 1747 in the city of "Marhein" in the Lower Palatinate in Germany and was 8 or 9 years of age when his family came to Phila., and from Phila., to Lancaster County, PA for about 8 years then to Carlisle for 2 years, then to Sherman's Valley for 16 years, then to Washington Co., PA Arnold, Jacob, PA line, rejected, applied in 1835 in Ohio aged 72. Enlisted in Berks County, PA., born in Northampton County, PA and after St. Clairs defeat moved to Mason County, KY for 11 years then to Green County, Ohio, then to Montgomery County, Ohio. Arnold, john, PA line, no pension Arnold, Jonathan, wife Polly, CT and NY Line, soldier applied in Wayne County, PA., soldier married 2 Jan 1800 or 1798 at Milford, Pike County, PA, in 1820 soldier had a wife "Polly" (Mary) aged 46 and 7 children; Widow's brother, Andrew Lester, signed aff'dt in 1850, aged 71. Arnold, Richard, NJ and PA line, applied in IN aged 75, married 3 Jan 1783 in Durham townshop in Bucks County, PA., her name before marriage was Mary Blackmon, soldier died 24 July 1843, oldest child, George, born 1 Dec 1785. Soldier lived at Bucks County, PA., until 1803 and the moved to Hamilton County, Ohio. Best Wishes, Geri
