Christ Church cemetery (Northampton Co.) "Dietrich, Johan-Jacob, born 4 Sept 1749, died 9 Nov 1819, his wife, Maria-Elizabeth, died 9 Dec 1842 aged 92. Children; Elias, John, Jacob, George, Abraham, Adam, Elizabeth, Catharine, Sarah, Elena. Best, Jacob, born 9 Oct 1773, died 20 June 1859, his wife Catharine, born 26 Feb 1772 died, 8 Feb 1847, children, Margaret, Mary, who married George Dietrich, Catharine, Elizabeth, Peter. >From the history of Lehigh County. The following history is a lateral translation from the Bible of Johann Elias Dietrich. "I feel it incumbent on me to copy into this Holy Bible, some of the facts concerning our family, as I have them from my grandfather's note-book, Bible and letters. The first of our line, Wilhelm Emanuel Dietrich, was born in the year of Our Lord, 1680. Grandfather's note-book says the above was a baron and that his father was of the highest nobility. My grandfather's record in his own words follows. The sons of Wilhelm were many, but the names of only 5 sons are recorded in the Bible, namely 1. Casper Dietrich, born in 1710, marrie Anna Leitheiser, in the year of Our Lord, 1730. Children, Johannes, Anna, Adam, Casper, they all came to "Amerika" 2. Elias, born 27 Jan 1713, married Sara __ name blurred, children, Johann Elias, born at Dresden _____1738, George Hans, born at Dresden, Nov 12, 1742, Adam Lorentz, born at Dresden, 1743. In the year of our Lord, 1743, Sara Dietrich died. In the year of Our Lord, 1744, Elias Dietrich did give into the hand of Jacob, his brother, and his wife Christina, his two sons, Johann and George; and on the same day he did give into the hands of his brother Casper and wife Anna, his son Adam, and did go his way to Amerika, on the ship Muscliffe Galley. In the year 1746, 28th day of Jan., Elias Dietrich, married Anna Elizabeth Stroud. In the year 1749, 4th day of Sept., their son John Jacob was born. In the year of Our Lord, 1752, Christina, wife of Jacob died, and Jacob set sail with myself, and brother George, for Amerika with the money my father sent me. In the year of Our Lord, 1755, 17th day of Sept, did my father Elias Dietrich, meet my brother, Adam Dietrich, at Phila. In the year 1778, on the 12 day of April, did I, and my son Johan, also to go against the English, and as Jacob, my uncle alway called me Elias, or young Elias, because I did most strongly resemble my father, and also other did call me Elias, and my son was Johan, therefor did they enlist my name "Elias DietricK" and my son Johann "Dietrick" 3. Jacob born in 1718, married Christina __in the year, 1738, 12th day of May, no children, she died in 1755. Jacob Dietrich married Rebecca Scholenberger, children, Catharine, born 1755, Adam born 29 May 1757. Adam Dietrich, above named, in the year of Our Lord, 1782 married Sara Dietrich, born in 1763, 18th of Sept. Children; Johann Adam, born 23 Nov., 1784, George born Oct. 3, 1790 4. John Dietrich, born in 1720, came to Amerika also in the year of 1739. He married in the year of Our Lord, 1740. Children; Conrad, born 1741, Johann, born 1746, Maria, born 1749, Melchior, born 1753, Ludwig, born 1756, George, born 1758, and Sarah, born 1759 5. Philip, born 27 Dec 1725. son of Wilhem. He married in 1748 to Elizabeth ___, born in 1726, died May 16, 1811. He died come to Amerika with his family in 1754. He settled near Lancaster at the outskirts of the city, his farm was know as the Wheatland Farm. Children; Jacob, born 1750, Magdalena, born 1753, Maria, 1755, Elizabeth, 1759, Philip, 1761, died in infancy, Michael, born 1762, Barbara, 1763, Heinrich, born Jan 19, 1765, Christiana, 1767 and Philip, born Oct 31, 1769. Johann Elias, son of Elias 2, was born at Dresden, He married Magdalena Hart, children, John born 22 Nov 1760, and died in 1795, he married Magdalena Snyder, 29 March, 1782. George Hans Dietrich, son of Elias 2, married 12 March 1761, children; John Jacob, born 12 Jan 1762, Sarah, born 18 Sept 1763, Elias, born 13 Aug 1765, Daniel, born 22 June, 1767. John Jacob Dietrich, above named married 20 Jan., 1783 to Anna Margaret Klotz, children; John, born 1784, Anna, 1787, Ludwig, 1790. Adam Lorentz Dietrick, son of Elias 2, married in 1768 to ____ , children; Frederick, born 23 Dec 1769, Abraham, 1771, Jacob, 1772. Frederick Dietrich, above named, married 2 March 1788 to Catharine ____, children; John, born 3 Oct 1789 Johann Jacob, son of Elias, born 4 Sept, 1749, married in 1770 to Maria Elizabetha Minier, children, Elizabetha, born 8 April, 1772, Elias, born 6 Dec. 1773, Dina, born 1775, Sara, born 29 Dec 1777, Johannes, born 9 Jan, 1782, Jacob born 6 Feb 1784, George , born 17 June 1786, Abraham, born 4 Dec 1788, Adam, born 22 Sept. 1790, Helen, born 11 June, 1794. Monroe County History "Detrick", Elias, grandfather, came to Monroe county (then Northampton) and settled in Middle Smithfield, he married Mary E. Mosey and they had 17 children, all of whom lived to adult age except Mary. The others were, Daniel, Philip, Jacob, Elias, Jesse, John, Martin, William, Katie, who married William Drake, Martha who married ___"Bartrown", Mrs. Julia Fleming, Mrs. Mary Eve Hoffman, Mrs. Philip LaBar, Mrs. Sally Chambers, Mrs. Susan Hoffman and Joseph. Jesse Detrick, married in 1840 to Catharine Kirendall, and moved to Stroud township, two miles east of Spraguevill,he lived there till his death in 1875. Stroud township, burial grounds for Detrick. Analomink Methodist Church, E. Stroudsburg, and Beakleyville Baptist Church, E. Stroudsburg. Lehigh County History Dietrich, Henry, was born in Lancaster County, (Manheim township). His grandfather, also named Henry, was a native of Germany, and was one of the earliest settler of Lancaster County. Adam Dietrich was the father of Henry, and he was a native of Manheim township, Henry Dietrick, is the 5th in his father's family. In Lancaster County, Henry Dietrich married Sarah Rockafield a native of Lancaster County. They had chidren; Barton, Harry,born at Eden, Lancaster Co., May 14, 1861, he married May 14, 1894 in Portland, PA., to Mrs. Priscillia (Webb) Davis, and Mary Best Wishes, Geri
