    3. Smith, Franklin W. (Rev.) subject, was born at Germansville, Lehigh County, the son of S. David (born 1825) and Angeline (Wehr) Smith of Lehigh County and grandson of John and Catharine (Miller) Smith. Angeline, born 1831, d/o Daniel Wehr, also of Lehigh County. Children of S. David and Angeline; Franklin W., Louis died at age 18, William, of Germansville, who married Sarah Wert, Mary married Willoughby Wert, of Pleasant Corners, Lucetta, who married Alfred Krum of Allentown, Moses who married Julian Smith, of Ohio, Angeline, the wife William Hawk of Lehigh County, Amanda who married Albert Hamm. Franklin W., in 1883, accepted a call to Tannersville, Monroe County, charge, Reformed Church, consisting of four congregations of Tannersville, Jackson, Paradise and Tompkinsville. He remained there two years 3 months, he then accepted the charge, Pleasant Vally, Jerusalem and Effort. Rev, Franklin W., married Oct., 1883 at Reading, Berks County, to Maggie R. Alt, of Lancaster, d/o Adam and Elizabeth Alt of Lancaster. She was the neice of Rev.John Alt and cousin of Mary B. (Alt) Hoy, wife of Rev. W.H. Hoy. Maggie R. died at age 27, and Rev. Franklin W. married,( she was buried 6 miles east of Lancaster), second, Dec 1, 1888 to Angeline (Hoodmacher) Shupp, d/o Edward and Margaret (Greenamoyer) Hooldmacher. Smith, Abraham, subject, of Middle Smithfield, was born at Mt. Bethel, Northampton County, July 1829. His paternal great-grandfather came from Holland, bringing with him 9 sons, who settled in Monroe and Northampton Counties. Of these William Smith, the grandfather, located in Smithfield township, Monroe County. He married Susan Transue. Children; 1. John, 2.Jacob who married Polly Brook,3. Daniel, settled in Kingston and had a large family, 4.William married Susan Wallace,5. Peter, never married,6. Isaac, married twice, by first wife (not named) had two daughters, Mary and Barbara, his second wife was Rachel Cortright of Monroe County and by her had 12 children (James, Charles, George, Obediah, Allen, Andrew, Jacob, Mrs. Emma Gardner and Elizabeth,the wife of Philip Ruster, of NJ), 7. Charles, lived in Walnut Vally, NJ., 8. Betsy married Jacob Transue and they lived in NJ., 9. Sarah who married John Miller, and they lived at Mt. Bethel, they had a large family, 10. Julia married Philip Smith, and they lived Mt. Bethel John Smith, father, of Middle Smithfield, married Louisa Arndt, native of Middle Smithfield, they had 12 children; 1. Madison, born 1827 married Maria Cosler of Monroe County, and they had, Edward, Wesley, Elizabeth, who married Stewart Shively, and Ella who married Harry Ayers. 2. Abraham 3. Willian, married Maria Clifford of Pike county, they lived in Stroudsburg, they had, George, John, William, Annie, and Susan 4. Catharine, born 1833, married John Clifford of Pike County, and they lived in NJ, children; John, Madison, James, Samuel, Oscar, George, Harry, Lizzie, Sarah, and Anna. 6. Samuel, born in 1835, married Alice Milton of Luzerne county, children; Jacob, Harry, Elijah, Jennie, Louisa, and Norman 7. Hannah, born in 1841, married Samuel Arndt, of Pike county and had, Mary, wife of John Cole, of Mt. Bethel, and Amanda, the wife of William Voise, of NJ. 8. Sarah, born in 1843, married George Cramer, of E. Stroudsburg and had, William, Ella, wife of Wilson Piper, Emma, wife of George Peter, and Harvey 9. Barbara A., born 1846, married Robert Darrhome of E. Stroudsburg, children, Annie, Martha, Louisa and George 10. Susan, born 1848, married Andrew Emery of NJ and they resided in Middle Smithfield, children; Ella, the wife of Dennis Treible of E. Stroudsburg, Louisa, Edith, Cleveland, and Anna 11. Louisa born in 1850, married Theodore Spangenburg, they lived in Patterson, NJ and had one daughter, Dora 12, James, born in 1853, married Belinda Howe, and resided in Forest City, Susquehanna County. Abraham Smith married in 1855 to Hannah Jennings, d/o Corneliuus and Mary (Howell) Jennings, of Bucks County, they moved to Monroe county, settled in Middle Smithfied, near Shomakersville and had 8 children; 1. James M. born Dec., 1856, he married Clara Sterline of Columbia and they moved to Reading, children, Dora and Edward 2. Moses 3. Horace, born 1862, he married Sarah Coolbaugh of Middle Smithfield, and had, Emma 4. George M. born June, 1864, he married Emma Wagnor, d/o William Wagnor of Stone Church, Mt. Bethel. 5. Lewis, married Cora Huffsmith of Brodheadsville and had 2 children, Lydia and Arlington A. 6. William born 1871, he married Lottie Lesine, d/o Henry 7. Emma 8. Cora Bell. Smith I. Melchoir Smith came to America, settling in Monroe county (then Northampton) he married Sarah Anthony a native of Monroe county. Children; Jacob, George of Paradise township, John of Pocono township, Adam of Pocono township, Joseph of Detroit, Mich., Peter who lived in Tannersville, Elizabeth, the wife William Halstead, Magdalena who was the first wife of William Halstead, Julia Ann, who married Jacob Bishing, of Battle Creek, Mich. II. Jacob Smith, was born in 1812, in what is now Pocono township, he married Lydia Henry who was born in Monroe county. Members of the Reformed Church. Children; James of Paradise, Amos, Jane, the wife of David Hull, of NJ., Charles of Mt. Pocono, Joseph H., Jacob, and Simon III. Joseph H. Smith, born in Pocono township, June 11, 1850. He married at Stroudsburg to Fancis Roberts, d/o Robert and Carolien (Hallet) Roberts. Children, May, Florence, Warren L., Earl, Chester, Arthur, William, and Clair. Smith Aaron Smith, of Smithfield township, was born Feb. 23, 1838, the son of Henry Smith and Sarah (Schoch) Smith. His grandmother Smith, was the daughter of Honnas Metzger, she born April 11, 1776 Springfiled township, Bucks County. She married John Smith. Children; 5 sons and 2 daughters.1. Henry was the eldest was the father of Aarom Smith, and he was born Nov. 11. 1798; 2. John, who married a Hauser, they had Barnet of Philipsburg, NJ., Samuel of Bangor, PA 3. Elizabeth who married Jacob Transue 4. Jacob who married Sarah Frutchey, d/o Mathias Frutchey, of Mt. Bethel and had 9 children 5. Samuel married Sally Rasley. 6. Catharine married Henry Detrick 7.
