    3. Amandus Possinger, of Jackson township, Monroe county. His birth occured Oct 11, 1837. His grandfather, John Possinger, was a native of Bucks County, he took 300 acres of land in Monroe county. He was a blacksmith. He was married to Elizabeth Handeline, and they had 6 children, 3 sons and 3 daughters. Joseph, John Jr., Reuben of Monroe county; Catharine the wife of Abram Tucker, Susanna the wife of Abram Smith of Jackson township, Mary, the wife of Daniel Bells of Jackson township, but died in Luzerne county. Joseph Possinger, father, was born Feb 4, 1802, he married Margaret Becker, a native of Jackson township, a d/o Henry Becker, a Rev. war solkdier Children; Rosanna, married Philip Frailey, Sarah Ann, who married Sebastian Singer of Pocono township, Peter of Bradfard county, John of Jackson township, Joseph of Jackson township, Catharine, the wife of Godfrey Ruff of Wyalsing, Bradford county, Margaret who died at age 31. Edwin died as a baby, The father departed this life July 17, 1877 and the mother died Feb. 10, 1885 Amandus Possinger, married March 20, 1864, marrried Mary Williams, who died Dec 3, 1892 leaving 3 children, Edward of Jackson township, Emma the wife of W.B.
