HI all, I just heard Effie is a nickname for Eva/Eve. Does anyone know if this is correct? Thanks in advance, Pam PS Geri, Do you have anything on Kortright/Cortright/Courtright?
My understanding is that Effie is the equivalent of Eve or Eva, in the same way that John and Johann and Juan are all the same name in different languages. Linda
It is also the nickname of Elizabeth or Elspeth in Scottish usage. My 5th ggrandmother was refered to as: Elspeth, Elizabeth, Effie, Eppy ----- Original Message ----- From: "Fite52" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, January 12, 2003 12:38 AM Subject: [PAMONROE] Nickname > HI all, > > I just heard Effie is a nickname for Eva/Eve. > Does anyone know if this is correct? > > Thanks in advance, Pam > > PS > Geri, Do you have anything on Kortright/Cortright/Courtright? > > ______________________________

Is anybody on the Monroe list using Deed Mapper? I have been entering some Zimmerman deeds from the area around St. Michael's Church in Smithfield. It would be interesting to share deeds.
