War (pensions) Christ Adam, sol. was a Sgt in the Rev.Army and was pensioned from March 4, 1789, his paper were burned in the fire either 1800 or 1814. He was on the list of invalids pensioners paid at Phila. Henry (Rejected) applied 1841 Lancaster County, PA, aged 80 and upward. Soldier lived in Berks Co., PA Lawrence or Lorentz, (Rejected) applied in Columbia Co.,aged 79. Soldier lived in Berks County about 20 miles from Reading. Philip, PA Line, applied in VA aged upwards of 72, soldier was born 1759 Berks County, PA in Long Swamp township. War of 1812 Crist George, wife Mary (Updike) married 7 Aug 1810 in Northumberland County Daniel, NY George, wife Harriet B. (Potts) married in MO in 1848, served VA Mil Jacob or Jacob Christ, marreid Ann Elizabeth Eckhart, married 1850 Germantown, Ohio William, IN Christ George, Elizabeth (Beaverling, married 10 June 1810, soldier died 3 Dec 1865 in Jonestowne. Jacob or as Jacob Crist Thomas, wife Mary, PA Mil Ritter, George, wife Sophia Christ, married 6 April 1813 in Northumberland County. II. John, son of John, was born March 9, 1809, died Jan 19, 1887. He married a Dundore, children; Louisa who married Levi Staley; Levi, died at aged 5; Jonathan; Thomas; Mrs Joseph Leinbach; Clara; Harrison D., had children (Mary Alice, Kate and Howard); Aaron D., had (Monroe, Minerva and Oscar); Sarah D.; Henry D., had (Helen and Rosa); James D.; Levi D., had (Verna, Willard and Norma). III. James D. son of John, born in Penn twp., member of St. Marks Church (Reformed) Reading, he married twice, 1st to Mary Obold, who was born April 26, 1847 in Penn township, d/o Joseph and Catharine (Billman) Obold, she died March 1, 1897, the mother of Evan P., and Samuel J, born Oct 30, 1886. He married 2nd to Ellen Albert of Bern township and they had a dau., Anna. IV. Evan P.. was born Penn township Jan. 27, 1837. He married Feb. 1897 to Mary C. Bickel, d/o Isaac and Angeline F. (Wenger) Bickel, and granddaughter of Jonathan and Magdalena (Wenrich) Bickel of North Heilelberg. Children; Harold, Isaac, George, Richard. Berks County History-Christ I. Jonathan Chirst-grandfather, a farmer at Bethel township, died aged 93 and he is buried at Host. II. John, was born in Bethel township, June 29, 1841 and he died April 20, 1887. He married Mary P. Zechman and is buried at Strausstown. Of their nine children only two surviving (1909) Samuel T., and Martha the wife of Edwin M. Himmelberger. Christ I. Harrison D. died in Phila., in 1903 age 65, he was married to Mary Reber, d/o Samuel, of Berks County, they had 4 children; J. Morris wo died in IL in 1886 aged 25, Alice who married George Albert of Phila., Mary, who married A.H. Dundore of Bernville, and Howard L. II. Howard L. was bonr in Fredericksburg, Sept. 14, 1876, in 1906 he married Mary Schenck, the d/o E.A. Schneck. Northumberland County Christ, Benjamin Franklin, son of john and Hannah (Eckert) was born Nov. 3, 1874 in Eldred township. On Oct 14, 1897 he married Annie Gross, d/o Frederick Gross of Mt. Carmel;.Children, John Frederick and Emil Marshall. Lebanon County Cyrus M. Christ, born in Lancaster County, son of William and Mary (Marks) Christ. was born Sept. 23, 1855. He married in 1875 to Emma Snyder, d/o John and Susan (Gushard). They had 6 children; Sallie the wife of Sameul Menser, and the had two children; Harry, who married Stella Smith and had a daughter, Hilda; Charlie who married Rachael Carpenter and they lived in Maine; Mamie; Margie; Frank. Lancaster County I. Amos B. Christ a native of Manor twp. II. Michael K. Christ, was born in Manor township, Sept. 1, 1850, he was married Aug 17, 1870 to Mary S. Miller. Children; Norman M., Benjamin M., Haldy M., Ida V. III. Norman M. married June 18, 1891 to Sarah Sneath, d/o William. Crist The first representative of the family was John Martin, who with his wife Anna Catharine came from Germany and settled near Elizabethtown, Lancaster County, Sept. 15, 1729. George H. Crist, paternal-grandfather of William Edward Crist, was born in Chambersburg, Franklin Co. about 1810. Faith, United Brethren. He married Anna Gerhart, a native of Franklin County. George lived only a few years after the birth of his son, and the death of his mother died 6 years later, leaving Samuel an orphan at age 12. He married Mary Catharine Cleverstone and they moved to Dectur, Il, they returned to Greencastle, Franklin Co., PA. William Edward, son of Samuel, married in 1881 to Ida C., only daughter of Samuel and Nancy Smith, residents of Greencastle, they had 5 children; Elva S., Edward, Nan C,, Janet and Samuel.
