Hello, Geri..If ever you get the time, could you look into something for me. My 2 x Gt Grandfather was ELIAS DIETRICH, born in February, 1816 somewhere in Pennsylvania. After much research and many dollars spent with paid researchers, I still can not find where in Pennsylvania and who his parents were so I can continue my search back into Germany. ELIAS DIETRICH moved into Ohio and his first son, Levi, was born in Richland/Ashland County, Ohio about 1838. ELIAS DIETRICH married a Lucy Ann (Payne?). Then he moved into Defiance County, Ohio where the balance of his family was born: Catharine, Jonathan, Sidney Jane, Franklin Daniel, Charles, and Mary. ELIAS DIETRICH died in September, 1884.......The help I am looking for is this: there was an Johann Dietrich born September 4, 1749 in Philadelphia, Pa. and he married a Elizabeth Minier. They had 9 children. Child number 7 was a George Dietrich who was born June 1, 1786 in Upper Mt Bethel Township in Northampton County and was christened at Christ Church, same Township and County. Child number 8 was Abraham Dietrich, born September 4, 1788, same Township and County.....Has anyone researched these two boys to see if possibly they had a son named ELIAS DIETRICH that would have been born about February, 1816? I am running out of ideas on how to proceed and indeed any, any help or ideas would be truly appreciated. Also, the name of ELIAS is apparently carried down as my Grandfather was also named ELIAS.
