Monroe County John Snyder, grandfather, was among the pioneer of Northampton County. George Snyder, father moved to Stroud township. He died Sept 17, 1868, he married Elizabeth Emery, she died Nov 21, 1887. They had children, John Emery born in 1827 in Northampton, became a brick layer, he married 1st to Elizabeth Utt, she died in 1888, he married 2nd to Magie Menauken of Monroe County. He was the father of three, all by the first marriage, Theodora A., a lawyer of Lehighton, William A., a jeweler of Belvidere, NY and Lizzie W.
