Dupuy, William, S. Depuy, of Delaware Water Gap, Monroe Co., was born near Smithfield township, in 1837. He was the son of John and Margaret (Staples) Depuy. The father was born 1804, son of Aaron and Elizabeth (LaBar) Depuy. William S., in 1859, married Catharine Ace, who was born in Smithfield township, in 1839, d/o George and Sarah Ace.. Her parents moved from Smithfield to Pocono township. Their other children were; William T., Moses T., Simeon T., Elizabeth, the wife of William Wamer of Tunkhannock, Sarah, the wife of Thomas Bush, of Pocono, Julia, wife of Frank Newell of Gouldsboro. William S., and Catharine (Ace), children, 1. Rachel, 2. Geroge, 3. Frank. all died in childhood, 4. Frances G., born in Smithfield, in Aug 1860, the wife of Byron Laubsher, and they had 2 children (Jennie and Beatrice). 5. Charles S., born in Scraton, June 25, 1804, he married Elymra "Cresge" (Kresge), and they had (erono and Virginia). Hattie S., born in Scranton in 1867, married Frank Belden of Scranton, lived in New Haven, CT. 7. John D., born in Smithfield township, March, 1871, they lived in Scranton.
