Berks County History Kirkhoff, Jacob G., of Penn Township, Berks County. He was born March 4, 1866, in Bern township, s/o Bishop Kirkhoff and grandson of John Kirkhoff. Henry Kirkhoff, the great-grandfather, was the first of this family to America, Native of Switzerland. He landed at Phila., 1799, aged 16. He was twice married, first to Susan Bishop, children; Susan, married Jacob Minner, they died in Reading, Mary, married ___ Troup, they died in Reading, Anna, who married Horatio Morris, they died in Reading, a daughter, who died in infancy. John B. For his second wife Henry married ___ Yocum, of Douglassville, and they had one son, William. John B. Kirkhoff, son of Henry, was born Oct 4, 1804, at Phila., as a small boy, he moved to EXter, died Aug. 19, 1880. He is buried at Aulenbach cemetery. He married Hannah Rapp, d/o Michael and Cathaine (Murphy) Rapp. Jacob G. Kirkhoff, married Ida Snyder, d/o Jacob and Kate (Kramer) Snyder, and they had 3 children; Albert, Harvey, and James. Berks County History-Hoyer 1. John Hoyer, grandfather, married Elizabeth Greenwalt, children; Peter, George,John, Samuel, and Susan who married ___ Monyon. II Samuel Hoyer, he died in 1849, aged 53. He married Susan Seifert, who died 1860, aged 61. Children; Joseph, John, Samuel, Isaac, Isaiah, Elizabeth married James Geiger, Susam, married Henry Miller, Hannah, married Elisha Wells, Sarah who married George Schaeffer. III. Isaac Hoyer, in the winter of 1858-58, married Mary Fry, d/o John and they had 4 children; Sarah E., married Jacob Kurtz, Hannah married John Spatz, John F., married Katie Kraemer. Best Wishes, Geri
