    3. Com. Bio. Rec. I. John Coolbaugh, a native of NJ, served in the Rev. War, took part in the battle of Monmouth. After the close of the war, he came to Monroe County. He married Susan Van Campen. Children; Abram, John V., Sarah, Susan, Hannah, and Moses. II Moses was born 1799, he married Mary Nyce, whose parents John and Eleanor Nyce was reared in Pike County. Children, William F, Amzi, died Jan 28, 1896 in Stroudburg, George, John of Iowa, M. Frank, Mrs. Catharine Kerr, Mrs. Lydia Peters of Somerset County, NJ., N.J., Eleanor is the wife of E. Freeman, of NJ., Susan, Mary, and Hannah who all died unmarried. III William F., first married Jane Brown of KY, and she died leaving 4 children; Mary who became the wife of Chief Justice Fuller, formerly of Chicago, Jennie, married B.F. Marsh member of Congress from IL, Minnie and James died young. IV. Frank Coolbaugh married Nov 1827 to Martha Squire, d/o Joseph and Mary (Cole) Coolbaugh, the name used be indentical with Collbrook. The first of this family to come to America was William Coolbaugh, a sea captian, he married Sarah Johnson, and located in Hunterdon Co., NJ., and later in the section, in what is now Middle Smithfield township, Monroe County. Rev. War John Coolbaugh, wife Mary, NJ line, soldier was born 14 Sept 1760, in Kingswood township, Hunterdon County, NJ., in 1786 he moved to Coryellis Ferry (now New Hope) for 2 years then moved to Northampton Co., PA, Middle Smithfield, the part that became Pike Co. Soldier married Mary "Wills" on 3 Jan 1820 at EAston, PA. Widow applied in Monroe County, a resident of Stroudsburg. Soldier's son, Moses was referred to Judge Moses W. Coolbaugh in 1854.
