Here's what I have, Elias Utt, died leaving 5 sons and 3 daughters. Elizabeth married James Sebring of Pocono, Catharine married Thomas Smiley of Stroud townhip, Jane the wife of Charles Edgerton of Warren, NJ., Henry who settled in Wayne County, Andrew who died young, Jacob and Adam. Adam Utt,, the son of Elias had 11 kids, Charles, Almeron, Jacob, Lucretia, Ely, Jackson, George, Phoebe, Ellen, James W. .Then was have Adam Utt in Barrett township in 1849 with 8 children, Charles, Almeron, married Emma Transue, Ely married Catharine Sebring, Lucy who married Andrew Sommers, J.Wilson, Jane who married Wilson Sutton, Ellen who married Charles W. Decker Then there was David of Northuberland, and he was born 1815 in Northampton, son David, grandson of Adam, problem, I don't see a David listed with Adam, and now pops up this Elizabeth. So now I check the war of 1812, and lo and behold, there is an Andrew, wife a wife Cathaine. Of course there is an Adam Now I go back to the Rev. and find Elias Utt, wife Luretia Solomen and she stated they had 8 children, she applied in Monroe County, but the only names she gave were; Jacob who was born 8 years after their marriage and who died at the age of 14, Adam born 3 years after Jacob and he was living in 1843 and Henry who born 5 years after the som Adam and died at ag 24. Are you confused, because I sure am. Best Wishes, Geri
Thank You Geri, I did not know that Catherine married Thomas Smiley. You forgot Elias son Eli who married Eliza Landers. They had a son William b.1825. Yes there were two Eli/Ely's. Adam named one of his sons after his brother Eli. >>>>>>>>>>>> The Adam Utt in Barrett Township (Son Charles) is whom I am descendant of and he had eleven children. Jackson m.Emaline Wademan. I have a Phoebe who m.Isaac Sutton. They are probably one in the same. I have a Jackson and an Eliza with no other information. >>>>>>>>>>>>> This is one difficult family to trace. They went generation after generation naming there children after there brothers and sisters. If one does not have a date for the individual they are tracing it is confusing. >>>>>>> Thanks Geri you did give me some new information. Most of the info I have came from Clarie Utt's book and was passed thru other Utt's to me. I have come across 5 Utt's so far doing family research. >>>>>>>>>> ----- Original Message ----- From: "geri brennan" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, November 09, 2002 11:29 AM Subject: Re: [PAMONROE] Re:Keiper, etc Here's what I have, Elias Utt, died leaving 5 sons and 3 daughters.
