    3. Benner-Monroe County I. Jacob Brenner, great-grandfather, native of Switzerland.He settled in Bucks County He had 5 children, three sons and 2 daughters. One of the former was, Louis, born in 1768. II. Louis, son of Jacob, He came from Bucks County, settled in Northampton, married Hannah Stump, they had 12 children; Daniel, Elizabeth, Elias, Louis, Henry, Thomas, died young, Joseph, Hannah, Abraham, Isaac, Joel, III Abraham, son of Louis, was born in Northampton County, in 1810. He married Susan Smith, who was born in Lehigh County, who was born in 1809, d/o George and Susannah (Linder) Smith, lifelong residents of Lehigh County, where Mr. Smith carried on the trade of a carpenter. He had three daughters; Elizabeth, who married Peter Lynn; Polly A., who married Daniel Balliet, and Susannah, the mother of Abraham Benner. The children of Abraham and Susannah Benner, Julia Ann, who married John Snyder, Louis G, subject, Edwin T., of West Fountian Hill, and the husband of Maria Jacoba, Diana, the wife of Benjamin Wile of Bethlehem, Abraham, who married Amanda Delong, he served in the 153rd P.V.I and was shot through the arm; James, of Lehigh County and he married Amada Toole; Asher, who married Mary, of South Bethlehem, and Emma, died age 16. Abraham Brenner, died in Northampton County in 1862, aged 52, he is buried at Friedensville. His wife died in 1890, and was buried at Fountain Hill, Lehigh County. Louis G. Benner, subject, a farmer of Chestnut Hill township, Monroe County. He was born in Northampton County, Dec 7, 1831. In Northampton County, Dec 5, 1852 he married Hannah Shupp, d/o Peter and Susannah (Aish) Shupp, she was born March 27, 1830. Children; Wilson, who married Ellen Eichelberger; Melvina, who married Henry Christman, Bainbridge, who married Viola Lovejoy, he was a bookkepper of Foreston, Minn., and Louisa, who died young.
