    3. My William and Christiana were born in Monroe county circa 1807-1808. They are in the 1850 census for Jackson Twp. with among others, my GG Grandfather, Jacob Young VanBuskirk. By 1860, William is missing, presumed dead. But in reality is in Minnesota by 1872 being gored to death by a bull. Of course, he and Christiana have by then begun to use her maiden name and all the children with them also use the name Young. Except, Jacob and Nicholas who use the VanBuskirk name in the Civil War and return to Pennsylvania, settling in Barrett Twp. Now, Nicholas after a time begins to use the alias Nicholas Bates. Confused yet? Also traveling with them was a Samuel and Susanna Young. This summer past one of the Minnesota Youngs came to visit PA to try to unravel some of the mystery and their true last name. If you send your e-mail address off list, I will forward what I have from them. Perhaps you hold pieces of the puzzle? ----- Original Message ----- From: "L. 3. *Charlotte, I have been following your discussion with Leon these past few days. I, too, am descended from the Jung family. Were your Wm and Christiana ever in WI? The Van Buskirk's of PA> WI married into the Arnold family (also from Monroe Co.PA, of course) I would bet all these folk are connected. Where in MN did Wm get gored by the bull? I live in MN and am close the History center in St. Paul. All sorts of great newspapers are on file there. I would be interested in pursuing this connection-hopefully you are too. Let me know. You can reach me @ [email protected] **Leon, I would also be interested in getting actual copies of the church records you have on the Jung's. Would be happy to pay for any expenses. We have corresponded in the past and you have been so helpful! Peace & Joy, Nancy Don't be discouraged, Moses was a basket case at one time. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Charlotte" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, October 15, 2002 4:20 PM Subject: Re: [PAMONROE] Christy Young > My William and Christiana were born in Monroe county circa 1807-1808.
