    3. The Morey family is of English origin, the first to cross the Atlantic was Wm. Moore, who settled in Lehigh County. Jacob Morey great-grandfather to B.F. Morey, settled near Portland, Northampton county, prior to 1760. he was more than 90 when he died. Tobis Morey, grandfather, probably born in Richmond, Northampton county, he married Margaret Weidman, he died at the age of 93, married 71 years, his wife died at age 99. Children; Jacob, Daniel, John, Peter, John, Reuben, Phillip, Sara, Margaret, Mary, Catharine, Judith, and Susan Jacob Morey, father, was born Jan 1, 1812 in Northampton county, his home was at Mt. Bethel. Member of the Reformed Church. In 1846 he married Mary A. Hester, a native of Northampton county in 1816, they had 3 children; B.F., born Jan. 19, 1848, married Frances Rafferty, who was born in 1847 at NY; Catharine, who marrieed T. Sterner of Allentown, Ellen, married W.W.Felker of Portland. Christ Church in Upper Mt.
