    1. [PAMONROE] Moving to Ohio & CT Western Reserve from Monroe Co & the region
    2. "Michael Ohl, Sr., was the original owner. Michael Ohl having disposed of his land, moved with his family to Trumbull County, Ohio and died in 1804 at aged 74." Source- Date: Sat, 17 May 2003 10:09:32 -0400 (EDT) From: [email protected] (Geri brennan) To: [email protected] I have a question - are there other known families from the Northampton County area [including MonroeCounty/Lehigh/Pike/Carbon/Luzerne Counties]who in the early 1800s are know to have moved to Trumbull County, Ohio in particular and the CT Western Reserve in general like the Ohls? Or to locations even farther west. If so can they be identified. Might be a handy list to have since so many folks "disappeared" in the 1790 - 1830 period from NE Pennsylvania - at least they are not on census listings in place of origin and Ohio data doesn't seem to stabilize in availability until after War of 1812 ends/circa 1820 or so. At any rate Just wondering if friends, relatives and neighbors went with the Ohl's and if other affinity groups from this area also emigrated en-mass. Thanks

    3. I've never been able to prove this for sure, but I believe that Frederick Strouse who was in Wayne Co, Ohio by 1820 was the son of David and Philipina Strauss who were in Hamilton Township, Monroe County by 1796. Also missing from the area after 1800 are Leonard and Gertrude Strauss Diehl. They settled in Allegheny Co, Pennsylvania by 1810 and are missing after that - possibly having gone into Ohio with Frederick Strouse... Anyone researching Strauss/Strouss/Strouse in Monroe Co, Pennsylvania may want to check out my webpages - they include the probable military service of Captain David Strauss of Hereford Township, Berks County. He died at age 92 in Hamilton Township and is buried with Philipina in the Storm Family Cemetery. http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~dehoff/titlepage.html Annette DeHoff [email protected] [email protected] wrote: > > "Michael Ohl, Sr., was the original owner.
