Lehigh County History Oliver P. Fisher, subject, farmer of Weisenberg, was born at Monterey, Berks county, July 18, 1856. In 1892 he rented a farm in Weisenberg. He was a member of the New Jerusalem Church in Albany township, transferred him membership to Weisenberg township. In 1880, he married E. Jeannett Snyder, d/o David of Lynn township. They had 4 children; Elmer W., married Ida Werley; Addie E., in 1905 married Nathaniel Werley; Lillie J., married E. G. Wiesner and Ira W. Oliver P. Fisher, son of James W. Fisher. James was from Maxatawny township, married Elizabeth Kline, d/o Peter Kline of Klinesville, Berks county. She died in 1873, aged 58. They had 6 children; Franklin married Sarah Lachman, Susan, married Jonathan Shlenker, Mary, married Willim Weiss, James, married Mary Moyer, Oliver P., and Sarah A., married Edward Walters. The grandfather of Oliver P., was John Fisher, who married Susan Wink, a sister of David Wink at Kutztown, and they had 5 children; Peter, Jacob, who married Maria Hinterleiter, William, James W., and Mary, who married William Reno. Peter Kline, the grandfather to Oliver P. Fisher was married to ____Atenderfer, of Klinesville, and they had 7 children; William, Peter Jr.,married Christina Dietrich, Perry, Elizabeth, Ann, married William Dietrich, Christina married Manasses Dreibelbis, Mary who married William Sassman. War of 1812 Fisher Allen, wife Louisa (Gelinger) 2nd wife, married 23 March 1841 Phila., PA, soldier died 25 1869, Ottawa, IL,, widow died 29 June 1893. 1st wife Eliza Leavering. David, wife Frances (Mitchell) 2nd wife, married 2 Dec 1840 Phila. Soldier lived in Chester County. 1st wife Margaret Stiled Dewalt, wife Elizabeth ("Hufernith") married 1814, soldier died 17 Oct 1869 Monroe County, lived in Monroe County Henry, wife Lydia Keller, married 11 Oct 1818 Lancaster County, soldier died in KN Jacob, wife Elizabeth Schwartz, married 14 Aug 1824 Lehigh County, soldier lived in Kutztown, Berks County John, wife Lydia Eppley,married 11 June 1818, York County, lived in York Michael, wife Elizabeth Burgess, married 31 March 1813, Fayette County, PA Michael, wife Mary Guttelman, 18 April 1818, Reading, PA Thomas, wife Mary, PA Thomas,wife Sarah Johnson, married 23 Nov 1816, Westmorland County. Dietrich Peter, wife Sarah Ann, PA Mil Monroe County History I. Michael Fisher, great-grandfather, died at sea on the voyage to America from Germany. His widow married ____Gower. II. John Lawrence Fisher, grandfather, was one of three children-two boys and 1 girl-according to some papers found soon after his death. He made his home in Polk township and lived to age 90. He married Elizabeth Merhekam. They had a large family, children; Michael, Dewalt, of Polk township, Abraham, Lawrence, Conrad of Stroud township, Elizabeth who married Adam Keller and died in Easton, Catharine, who married Peter Frederick, Margaret, who married Conrad Hawk, Eva, never married, made her home with the Keller family of Easton, Susannah, married Jesse Siglin, and Maria who married Michael Hawk. III. Abraham Fisher, father, was born in 1789. died March 1851. He married Margaret Smith born 1802 in Carbon County, and died in 1876. Her father was Abraham Smith of Carbon County where he died at an advanced age. Children; 1. John Smith Fisher,2. Mary who married 1st to James Gregory, 2nd to George Smale, by the lst marriage she had two children (Malinda, Mary and by the 2nd she had one daughter,(not named) who married Peter Bowlinger, 3. Charles, married (not named) and had 4 children; Fannie, Becky, May, and George. IV. John Smith Fisher, married in 1846 to Susannah Shupp, who was born Aug 17, 1822, in Chestnut Hill township, Monroe County. Children 1. Nathan died at 3 weeks 2. Edwin, born Sept 19, 1840, employed by the US Mint at Phil., he married Sophia Burd, a native of NJ 3. Sallie, died aged 4 4. Charles, died at aged 3 5. Mary died in her 4th year 6.
