I am trying to clear-up a confusion on JOHN B. SMITH and JOHN HUFF of Pike County Pa. I have a MARY BELOOF who marries a JOHN B. Smith in my records. I was given this info from the Smith file at Monroe County Historical Society. I also found, at the Smith Funeral Home Monroe County, a listing for an ANDREW SMITH whose parents were listed as John B. and Mary Beloof Smith. In the Pike County Census I found John and Mary in 1860 with Andrew as one of their children. On a CD someone has listed a JOHN HUFF with MARY BELOOF as his wife in the same time period with the same children as my JOHN B. SMITH and MARY. OK, we can't have two men with the same wife. I am not saying I am correct, I just want to put Mary with the correct spouse. I have sent this message to both Monroe and Pike Counties listings since the Smith and BELOOF families are in both Counties. Is there anyone from either the SMITH or HUFF families, that can help me and several others, clear up this confusion? Thanks for your time and help. Sandy Lesh WV
