John Ryan b. 1828 married Mary Ann, also born in Ireland Thomas Ryan b. 1833 Ellen Ryan b. 1838 Jeremiah Ryan b. 1838 The family lived in Luzerne and Monroe counties. I am intersted in John Ryan.     3. dr. george van buskirk, who attended lectures as early as 1801-2 at the u.of p. and jefferson medical college. practiced at millerstown, during the war of 1812, moved to pottstown. a son now practices denistry in allentown. rev. jacob van buskirk, a hollander, with a family settled upon a tract of land which he purchased from peter miller, in nov. 1784. this tract was warranted 23 july same year. contains 150 acres, less so much of it has been cut up into lots upon which the village of millerstown has been laid out. it was the same ground which is now macungie. he lived in a house which stood on the corner of main street. his wife's maiden name was hollenbach, with whom he lived till death. he is buried at north wales. his wife was a sister to the great grandmother of ex. gov. hartranft, and is buried at the lehigh ch. (lower macungie). rev. van buskirs preached at the lehigh ch., at germantown, and at trapp. he paid a number of visits to washington's camp during the rev. he built and for a long time operated a tannery, situate in macungie twp., which is now owned by his great-grandson, james singmaster. his family numbered 3 sons and 4 daus. his son george moved to pottstown. jacob was an old bachelor, when a young man, moved to york state, when he died his estate was left to go to ruin, and was never settled up nor taken by any of his relatives. john a 3rd son settled in va. where he owned a large plantation and a large number of salves. later, however, he sold out and moved to market street in phila, where he kept one of the principal hotels of the city. he married a miss eckert, from berks co., and they had 2 sons, 1 a lawyer, at one time sec. of state of md., where committed suicide. lydia, d/o rev. van buskirk, was 1st married to adam singmaster, of millerstown, and after his death to daniel good, of upper milford. another of the minster's daus. was married john shimer. charles s.shimer and e.s. shimer, mayor of the city of allentown, are among her grandchildren. monroe co., pa. von boskerk andreas, june 1787, moses and margaretha-hamilton twp. van boskirk joseph 23 feb 1776 johann and maria van buskirk abel, 4 may 1820, andreas and anna jacob 24 may 1817 same parents johann 1 nov 1818 same parents all at hamilton twp monroe co. history james everitt was born nov. 23, 1836, he married 1st emaline hufmacker, native of chestnut hill. children; franklin, marrid addie weiss of freeland, oscar, unmarried, j. wilson of freedland, married caroline solomon, ulysses of chestnut hill, married ella felker, emalinda, wf of willard davidson of luzerne co., and augustus and joseph, both deceased. on june 28, 1884 james everitt married mrs. mary a. (van buskirk) christman, d/o enoch and julia ann (altmose) van buskirk, of ross twp, and the widow of dawalt christman. she is a native of ross twp. her paternal grandfather, jacob van buskirk, was a native of holland, came to america, becoming an early settler of ross twp., monroe co. he married hannah hogland. the maternal grandparents of mrs. everitt were adam and catharine (starner)altmose. the family of enoch and julia ann van buskirk, children; mary a., wf of james everitt, charles married emma gruver, jacob married amanda ramel, lizzie married mr. finkley of mississippi, ella wf of barney miller, of easton, emma wf of urias snyder of catasaugua. enoch van buskirk died april 19, 1873 age 62. his wife died sept. 11, 1868 age 42. mary a. van buskirk, 1st married dawalt christman, s/o john and mary (gower) christman, the latter now 96 (1900). dawalt christman, who was a blacksmith, died oct 1881, age 42y 6m. he is buried at st. peter's ch. 3 sons were born to dawalt and mary a. christman of whom enoch and charles are partners in the tinsmith business at allegheny co.. and jacob w., married mary william and is employed in a silk factory in easton. the marriage of james and mary a. everitt has been blessed with 3 children; a. mabel, raymond d., and grace e. member of the reformed ch.
