Quick question--- What age did a man have to be before he could own land? Was it 21??? The reason I am asking is that I found a deed for my 3ggf where he purchased land in Mifflin County in 1812. His age is reported differently in later censuses, giving him a birth year of from 1791 to 1795. If he had to be 21 to own land, could I assume that the 1791 date was more likely?
