In 1783 Alexander and Archibald Stewart each were assessed on 200 acres and James on 170. On the 28th of February, 1785, Alexander warranted 200 acres of land and on the 30th of January, 1787, Archibald warranted 300 acres. Alexander Stuart (Probably the one who warranted 200 acres in 1785) died in 1825, leaving 500 acres. His oldest son was John; his other children were Sarah, Susanna, Rebecca, Joseph, William and James; the latter is still living, below McVeytown. The homestead farm is now owned by Manuel Bieler."
