    1. [PAMIFFLI] Lookk-ups in old, rare 1886 Book
    2. Might this rare book be, "History of that Part of the Susquehanna and Juniata Valleys Embraced in the Counties of Mifflin, Juniata, Perry, Union and Snyder.." Two volumes, published in Philadelphia in 1886? If so, can anybody identify the person or place, "Brice," mentioned on Page 785 (Vol I) , in the passage, "James Heddleston, west of Brice, was an early settler, but only warranted his one hundred and seventy-five acres May 4, 1789. This was the old George Sanderson improvement." James Heddleston was my 4g grandfather, who is listed on Page 750 of that book as an "additional name in 1772," and who sold his land in present Milford Township, Juniata County in 1796. The eventual buyer was Thomas Harris, who is listed in the Indenture as a neighbor. I'm unaware of any placename Brice in Milford Township, so I've wondered if "Brice" here might be the name of a landowner? I found that book in the Mifflin County Historical Society, but I live in North Carolina and cannot easily recheck records in Carlisle, Lewiston or Mifflintown. Any help would be appreciated. Dave
