Born on March 19, 1915, in Curtin, he was a son of the late Earl G. and Helen G. Ebbs Myers . On Dec. 2, 1944, he married Goldie Pauline Charles, who died on Aug. 11, 1994. He attended both the State College and the Bellefonte high schools. He was the owner of Harry E. Myers Electrical Contracting. He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 1600 in State College and the State College American Legion Post 245. He was a charter member of the Nittany Knights Barbershop Chorus and was one of the founders of the Black Hawk Riding Club. He was also a member of the Shady Trail and Bellwood riding clubs. He and his brother, Joe, were featured entertainers in the 1930s and the 1940s. He enjoyed gardening and singing and was an avid horseman whose passion was Tennessee Walking horses. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Boalsburg. He is survived by two daughters, Constance J. and her husband, William Palmer, of Montclair, Va., and Cheryl A. and her husband, Robert E. Thomas, of Manassas, Va.; a son, James C. Myers , of Boalsburg; four grandchildren, Timothy Andrew and his wife, Georganna Palmer, of Moon Township, Jeannie and her husband, Chuck Boyer, of Herndon, Va., and Robert J. and Matthew B. Thomas, both of Manassas, Va.; three great-grandchildren, Sophia, Jacob and Joseph Palmer; a sister-in-law, Virginia Myers ; and a niece, Pat Cadenhead. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Myers . Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Brent Book officiating. Burial will be in Boalsburg Cemetery.
