They say they have been married 7 years (1893?) and that they have had no children ( 0-0 ). They are there again in 1910 and by 1920 Lewis states he is a widower and is living with his widow mother. So Elizabeth Virginia died sometime between 1910 and 1920, childless and probably in Armagh twp in Mifflin county (maybe buried in Milroy). __________ Adeline Hoover in 1900 was also in Armagh, a widow, born Jan 1836 in Pa of Pa-born parents. She says she has had 5 children, all of whom survive (Lewis, Cordelia, Effie, Freeman, and Maria). In the 1880 census, Adeline is a widow in Barree, Huntingdon, a milliner and with children Delia (Cordelia) and Louisa (Louisa Maria). Children Lewis, Effie and Freeman are with their grandparents, Freeman and Sophia Shipton (presumably Adeline's parents) in Milroy, Armagh, Mifflin. In the 1870 Pike, Clearfield census are: Hoover, James L., 44, millwright Adaline Lewis, 9 Cordelia, 7 Effy, 4 Freeman, 2 Maria, 1 (her name is either Maria or Louisa, or both) 1860 Pike, Clearfield census is: Peter Hoover, 61 Mary, wife J. Linn, 34 (James Linn, James L. in 1870) Matilda Lewis theresa Allen' Zenas __________________________________ Elizabeth Virginia Riden, there is: 1880 Union, Mifflin Samuel M. Riden Mary, wife Adam Elizabeth Z. (this "Z" must be a transcriber's mistake) 1870 Union, Mifflin (transcribed as "Ridom") Samuel, 30 Mary, 31 Adam, 8 Lucemma, 7 Virginia (she was called Elizabeth in the 1880) John Esther. In the 1860 census, Samuel M. Riden is single and enumerated in Armagh. I "think" that is him in the 1850 Derry, Mifflin census with parents William and Hester Riden. ___________ Hope this helps out, Sue Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
