    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Henderson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/AcB.2ACE/648.657.665.684.1.1.1 Message Board Post: I cannot find a connection between the Henderson and the Wharton families although there very well may be one. It is possible John Henderson was an important person to the Wharton's thus the use of his name. John Henderson Wharton's brother David Sterrett Wharton was my ancestor, David Sterrett being the minister of the church at the time David (Wharton) was born. The following books list Hendersons: WILLS OF MIFFLIN COUNTY 1789-1860 James Henderson, Derry Twp, w. 11/30/95, p. 12/16/95, wife Sara, sons Rickey (eldest), Samuel, David, daughters Margaret, Martha, Jane, (eldest), Elizabeth, Saran, Exec. wife Sarah & Robert Hunter Also listed: Elizabeth Henderson in will of John Saylor and a Dr. Joseph Henderson THE PEOPLE OF MIFFLIN COUNTY PENNSYLVANIA 1755-1798 Andrew Henderson of Wayne taxed 88-89 Robert Henderson of Wayne taxed 88-89 Thomas Henderson of Armagh freeman 85-87 1790 census lists James & Robert/Mifflin County James, John, John, Widow Henderson, William in Juniata Note: County lines changed frequently so be aware of where your Henderson's lived and what county they lived in at a particular time. It is possible the lived in the same place with the county they resided in changing. My Wharton's were located in Hunterdon County and Mifflin. Hope this helps. Good luck in your search Jean Wharton Pettitt
