Dorothy L., 10 Grace, 7 James R., 2 _________________ 1900 Cornplanter, Venango, Pa census Frank B. Lepley, born November, 1860 in Pa of Pa-born parents married 14 years with 6 children, all surviving Sarah, born April, 1866 in Pa of Pa-born parents. Atta (?daughter), born May 1887 Alice, born Feb. 1889 Thomas J., born Aug 1890 Mildred, born Aug 1894 Lydia, born May, 1897 unnamed daughter (obviously Dorothy), born Jan, 1900 ______________________ 1880 Canal, Venango, Pa census Anthony Lepley, 52, born in Pa of Pa-born paretns Lucinda, 37, born Pa and looks like her father was born in Con. and her mother in York State? Addie, 14 (Sarah was obviously enumerated twice, once as Sarah at her place of work. This 'double enumeration' happened all the time and still does!) Leonard, 7 Mary, 5 unnamed son, born May, 1880 1880 Jackson, Venango, Pa census finds Benjamin Franklin Rodgers with his parents Thomas and Eliza. ______________________ 1870 Canal, Venango, Pa census Anthony Lepley, 35 Lucinda, 26 Franklin, 9 Sarah, 4 (called Addie in the 1880 census) 1870 Jackson Venango census finds Franklin, age 8, with his parents Thomas and Louis Rodgers. _______________________ 1860 Wayne, Crawford, Pa census Sarah Lepley (widow of Anthony Sr.- nicknamed Sally (Womer), age 66 Michael, 17 Anthony, 31 1860 Jackson, Venango, Pa census finds Thomas and Eliza Rodgers with their family - BF Rodgers not yet born. Note, in every other census Eliza is called Eliza - I think the census-taker misheard the name in 1870 and put down Louisa) ____________________ 1850 Meadville, Crawford, Pa census Anathony Lepley Sr., 62 Sally, 45 amongst their children enumerated with them is son Anthony Jr., age 23 1850 Sugarcreek, Venango, Pa census finds Thomas and Eliza Rodgers, presumably living immediately next door to his parents James and Eliza (Foster) Rodgers. James Rodgers seems to be the son of John D. Rodgers who was born about 1765 in Ireland and died 1843 in Venango, Pa. ________________________ Don't count too much on the ages given in the various censuses. They are very often all over the place - although as they get on in years, the people seem to become a little more truthful about how old they are!! Hope this all helps, Sue
