He was the proverbial black sheep and no one wants to own up to him being in the family, apparently that includes himself! Milton Clay Kauffman, born 22 Oct 1862 in either Mifflin or Juniata County. Born to either John Kauffman and Margaret Mashman or John Kauffman and Mary Miller (the census shows him in the John & Margaret household, the death certificate says his mother was Mary Miller). He married either Anna Williams and then Matilda Hartley or just Matilda Hartley, but one child lists Anna Williams as a parent while the other children show Matilda Hartley. Would love to learn more about the Kauffman side of the Family. John Kauffman, the father, was born in 1837. Nothing else is known of him. Any help would be greatly appreciated on this line. Thanks.
