Hello. I am researching Thomas A. Reed born May 1, 1857 in Lewistown, PA. He is my father's grandfather. I think his father was John S. Reed (estimated birth year 1813) and mother was Elizabeth (estimated birth year 1814), which I determined from the 1870 Census. I am looking for more information about this Reed family. Sharon, I do not know if this information has any connection to your REED line. I have an Elizabeth Reed born 25 April 1808. I'm not sure which county in central Pennsylvania was her birth place. Around 1840 she married Henry TROUP and they had 4 children. Her fathers name was David Reed and her mothers first name was Jane. I have a copy of David Reed's Will which lists his children. There were 8 children but I do not show a John. David is buried in St. James Lutheran Church yard in Greenwood Township, Juniata County.
