    1. Re: [PAMIFFLI] BRUNER FAMILY
    2. Sue
    3. Thomas Otis Bruner, born March 4, 1902 in Alabama, was a son of Amos and Clara Bruner, who married about 1902. They moved to Florida and had son Benjamin in 1910. The 1900 Granger, Henry, Alabama census shows: Caswell, Bruner, widower, born Apr, 1852 in Alabama of parents who were both born in Georgia. Jessee, son, January, 1877, Alabama Hattie, daughter, June, 1883, Alabama Amos, son, December, 1885, Alabama Walter, son, February, 1891, Alabama Thelma, daughter, May, 1893, Alabama Immediately next door is Daniel Bruner, born April, 1875 and his wife Nancy (born april, 1879) with their 3 children Cay (?) son, born Sep, 1893; Archie (born March, 1895); and Willie (born March, 1899) - all members of this family were born in Alabama. ________________ 1880 Gordon, Henry, Alabama Archy Bruner, 56, born in Georgia of parents who were also both born in Georgia Amsey, 59, born in Ga of Ga-born parents Green, son 26, born in Florida Sarah, 18, born Ala William, 17, born Ala Archey, 15, born Ala Maxey, 13, born Ala Immediately next door is son Caswell Browner, age 32, born in Georgia of parents who were both born in Georgia Mary A., wife, 32, born Alabama of paretns who were both born in Florida Ellen, 13 Ala Daniel, 7 Ala Ada, 6, Ala Ella, 5, Ala Jessee, 3, Ala Nat, 7 months old, Ala ________________ 1870 1st Preceinct, Henry, Alabama census Caswell Breuner, 28 Mar, 22 Jane, 3 (her full name must have been Jane Ellen or Ellen Jane as she is 'Ellen', age 13 in 1880 census) Julia, 1 (must die before 1880) 1870 3rd Precinct, Henry, Alabama census Archibald Bruner, 50, b. Georgia Amsey (maiden name is Amsey C. Moore), 60, Ga Daniel R, 14, born Georgia Martha, 16, born Florida Green, 15, born Florida Sarah, 12, born Florida William, 8, born Alabama Archibald, 6, born Alabama Maxey, 2, born Alabama _______________________ 1860 Columbia, Henry, Alabama census (this family's census was taken on July 7, 1870) Archie Spooner (censustaker's mistake here), 35, Ga A. Living nearby is Archie's brother John and his wife Parmelia and their family _________________- 1850 Division 93, Wilkinson, Georgia census Archibald Bruner, 23, born Georgia Amsey, 21, born Georgia Carswell, 2, born Georgia Living in the same precinct are Archie's brothers and their families: John & Parmelia, William & Sarah, and Daniel & Elizabeth. ____________________ the only Bruners living in Wilkinson county, Georgia in 1840 are William Bruner, aged 50-60 with 2 sons aged 10-15 and 1 son aged 20-30; William J Bruner lives immediately next door, aged 20-30 with no sons. And immediately next door to William Sr. on his other side is John Bruner, aged 20-30 with another male in the household (brother? or just hired help?) aged 10-15. William Bruner the elder is also in Wilkinson county in both the 1820 and 1830 censuses, but the name is spelled Brewner in both censuses. It seems fairly obvious that Archibald Bruner was one of the sons of Williams Bruner of Georgia who was born sometime between 1780 and 1790. Looking through some of the various postings on the net, William Mr. Bruner was born about 1786 in Georgia and married an Elizabeth Nixon. Their son Daniel married Elizabeth Johns. Their son William J (Joshua) married Sarah Thigpen. Their son John married Parmelia. Their daughter Elizabeth married Francis I. Johns. And their son Archibald married Amsey C. Moore on December 10, 1846 in Wilkinson, Georgia. Hope this all helps, Sue
