His sons were James, David, and General John Ross. His daughters were Mary (John Criswell), Sarah (John Postlethwait), Martha (William Jenkins), Elizabeth(willima McKinstry), and Jane (David Criswell). Colonel William Postlethwait, who settled at Mt. Union, and his 2 half-brothers, Thomas and Samuel, were the first of that name in the county, settling here about 1800. Colonel William had 3 sons (William, Thomas and Joseph). The first time anyone by the name of John Postlethwait shows up in Wayne twp is in 1829, when he bought the 'Logan House" where he kept a tavern.
