    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Armstrong, Lyon, Wallace, etc. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/AcB.2ACE/1529.2 Message Board Post: Hi. I'm a descendent of Plunket Armstrong and have quite a bit of information about the family in Mifflin. However, I was surprised to see that you list Plunket as a grandson of Capt. William Armstrong and his wife Rebecca. I'd greatly appreciate any information you have documenting that relationship. Everything else I've seen (including Capt. Armstrong's will and Bell's various books) indicates that William Armstrong (Plunket's father) was NOT a son of Capt Armstrong. I have long thought that land records would probably clear up the relationship, but have not had time to check them. Re. McCord--I have assumed that Rebecca's last name was McCord. Have you ruled that out for some reason? The Armstrong family of Mifflin and Cumberland was connected to the Col. William Armstrong family of Delaware, and I believe McCord was from there. As I said, I have pretty extensive records on various Armstrongs in PA and nearby, which I'd be happy to share. Please let me know what! you have. Re Wallace--my family has been told that the Armstrongs were related to Lew Wallace, who achieved some fame following the Civil War. There were Wallaces in PA, but I have been unable to establish a connection.
