Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/AcB.2ACE/1551.1 Message Board Post: In the 1886 book are a few references to various Davidsons: In 1793, a James Davidson owned lot #129 in Lewistown Yeagertown: Joseph Davidson, a Blacksmith, lived in a log cabin where the present brick house of John B. Morrison now (1886) stands. Armagh twp: Robert Davidson was assessed on 100 acres in 1773 Siglerville: John Davidson was one of the school teachers in the 2nd school house built at Cameron's Hill (first one burned down) Newton Hamilton: Robert M. Davidson, boat-builder, assessed in 1836 Granville twp: Captain David Davidson reseided in Mifflintown in 1800 and was a tavern-keeper. Looking in the Commemorative Biographical Record of Central Pennsylvania (Beers, 1898), there was a Joseph Davidson who lived and died in Centre county. His son Alexander was born in Half Moon twp in Centre county about 1807. Alexander married Sarah Hicks (also born in Half Moon twp about 1811. Sarah died in the 1850's and Alexander married widow Mary (Walker) Watson, the widow of Green Watson. Alexander had 8 children by Sarah (1 died in infancy and 1 died at age 2) and 3 children by Mary. The children by Sarah (with spouse names in brackets) were Amanda(Reuben T. Comly), Martha(W. Irwin), Mary(died age 2), Hannah(Harris Way), Eliza(William Taylor), James, Joseph H.(Lucy A. Hoover). The 3 children by Mary were Michael (butcher in Phillipsburg), Grant (lived in Centre county), and Ida (William Brower). Hope some of this gives you a few new leads Sue
