The following information was written in 1977. HOOLEY cemetery is located to the left of Rt.655s, about 1/4 mile above the Old Gibboney Woolen Mill on the farm of Curtis Yoder. {Driving would be going south from Reedsville towards Belleville} There are 32 graves, 6 family surnames, the earliest stone is of Elizabeth Hooley in 1825. The family names in that cemetary are Hooley, Esh, Yoder, Kaufman, Zook, and King. While in the states last year we visited it. It sits on some land that belongs to a Menonite farmer. It doesn't have any sign or anything to let you know where it is off the road..but the house of the current owners of the land sits to the right of the cemetary perhaps a couple of hundred yards away. There is a small road the runs from their house to the cemetary but there is also a road that leads to it from off the road. We had to use a gps to find it. The farm use to be owned by Yoders but it was sold to another family several years ago...although the original farm house sits on the propert just in front of the new owners home. This family still cares for the cemetary. The cemetary itself is actually quite lovely and peaceful with many large old trees surrounding it. It sits off the road by at least 50 yards maybe more. I wish i could remember the names of the new owners but i failed to write it down..sorry. But I did find a more complete list of the names of the people buried there and will post it to you in a seperate post. If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask will try to answer them if I can. Happy searching, Debbie Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
