Hi, I checked my book quickly and found this : Huffnagle, John D. ....to Florence Faux May 16, by Rev. W. B. Cox .... May 19, 1893 ( May 19th is the day it was listed in the paper) So they were married May 16, 1893. Then right under that was this listing: Huffnagle, John D. .....To Carrie J. Kline of Wagner on March 31. .... April 7, 1898. ( April date was when it was in the paper ) So.....They married March 31, 1898. And, Wagner is a small little town in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. Hope this has helped you. Was John married twice? Did Florence die and John marry again ? Kindly Bea ----- Original Message ----- From: "Melissa F. Although listed as Florence Faux, I believe that she is actually Florence Fox. Her father is listed as both Herman Faux and Harmon Fox in the 1890 Veteran's schedule. He served in the 210th Regiment, Pa Infantry, Company D as a Private. He enlisted 7 Sep 1864. Harmon Fox was a son of Caleb (born abt 1813 in Pa) and Hannah Fox (born abt 1817 in Pa) and was born in Mount Pleasant, Columbia. This family is in the 1840, 1850 & 1860 censuses and in the 1870 Hemlock, Columbia census. By the 1870 census, Harmon has married Hannah but have had no children yet (at least none with them in the 1870 census). By the 1880 Fermanagh, Juniata census, Harmon and Hannah have 5 living children: Ada(1871), FLORENCE(1873), John(1875), Della(1877) and Anna(1879). Harmon is aged 34 and Hannah is 35 (they were 23 and 25 respectively in 1870). By the 1900 census, they are living in Lewistown in Mifflin. Harmon says he was born in april of 1845 and Hannah was mistakenly entered as having been born in June of 1854(should be 1844). They say that they have been married 30 years (1870?) and that they have had 7 children but just 3 survive (Harry(1886) and Della(1875) who are with them and the 3rd is???? In the 1910 census of Lewistown, they say they have been married 38 year (1872?) and have 8 children with just 3 surviving (Harry, Della and ???). Harry married a girl by the name of Violetta (Lettie) and Della married Harry E. Rice (1920 Lewistown and 1930 Brown twp, Mifflin censuses). No sign of Harmon and Hannah after the 1910 census. I would gather that John D. Huffnagel and Florence Fox named their daughter after her mother Hannah. Hope this helps, Sue ----- Original Message ----- From: "Melissa F. Hello, I was wondering if anyone might have a source to check on a marriage for me. The marriage took place in May of 1893 between a John D. Huffnagle and a Florence ???. I need to know the maiden name of the woman. Also, am wondering if she was possibly married before. Thanks so much! Sincerely, Melissa F. Thanks again. Charles Edwin AURAND and Catherine "Kate" Lincoln SMITH had 6 children: Jessie born & died 1884, Estella Raye, who married Harry L. CLOSE, William E. who married Edith RANDOLPH, Eva E. who married John W. MOON, Nellie H. who married Albert MILEY and Hannah Mary born 1893 and died 1894. Perhaps some of them are there. I appreciate it. Maxine Bea and Stan Rutherford wrote: > Maxine... > There is an " Aurand" cemetery right up from me here in the Valley. It is on > yes an "Aurand" farm..... Maxine, When looking at the image of the surname index, zoom in on it. http://www.rootsweb.com/~pamiffli/cem_mif_vol/MCCemIndex08.gif Also, if you open the link to the http://www.rootsweb.com/~pamiffli/mchs-cems.html in a separate window, you can tile your screen vertically between the surname image and the list of cemetery codes, and figure out if there are any Aurandts listed in a St. Marks cemetery. Then check the lookups page to see if anybody is doing lookups in a book that covers the appropriate township. http://www.rootsweb.com/~pamiffli/lookups.html (And if anybody has any updates on those lookup emails, please notify me or Josie Baughman.) I have two solutions for pages like these; 1. Right click on the image and save it to your desktop. Open the desktop image with one of your favorite photo programs where you can zoom in. 2. Open a Word file; right click 'copy' and paste it on your word document. You can stretch it out and print it. Hi Bea, Thanks for the offer. I'm looking for Huffnagles - mainly John David Huffnagle, born 1870. I need a date of death for him. Also, would like to know if he's buried with a wife? I'm told that his daughter, Lillian Pennybaker is buried there as well, with her husband. Not sure of his first name. Lillian was born about 1902. I appreciate the lookup. There's an Emma Bottorf in the 1860 Lock Haven, Clinton census, aged 20, with 2 very young Bottorf children, Clara(2) and Angeline(1) - the 3 of them are staying with a family of a different name. Emma is in Cambria county in the 1870 and 1880 censuses with husband David Lucas (children in 1870 census are Lulu and George) and (children in 1880 census are Lulu May Lillie G. and David W.) Presumably young George died sometime in the 1870's. Emma is in the 1900 Armagh, Mifflin census with 2nd husband Richard M. Henry. As they say they've only been married 10 years (21) in the 1910 census, presumably they married 1889 or 1890 and their children in the 1900 census , the eldest from her first marriage (George W.) and the rest presumably all from Emma's 2nd marriage are Richard, Maud, James, and (twins?)Bessie and Tressie. Emma says that she's had 16 children but just 4 survive which is obviously not right as she has 5 or 6 with her. She also says she was born July 1846, but I think she is probably older as she gets progressively younger throughout the censuses (26 in 1870, and (if her) 20 in 1860 and 38 in the 1880 census (born 1842?). David isn't in the 1910 census, but Emma does not indicate that she is a widow, just that she has been married twice. By 1910, Emma now says that she has had just 12 children and now 7 of them survive. With her are James, Jessie & Tressie, also Frank (was this Richard in the last census) and 15-yr old Earnest (where was he in 1900?), Allie (a son) and Russell - the latter 2 born after 1900. Also with her is a 35-year-old son (born abt 1875?) who, if the age is correct, must be David G., although the name looks like, hard to read, Chr..? Emma gives her age as 51 in this census (therefore born abt 1859) By the 1920 census (Derry, Mifflin), Emma is now saying she is 63, so now born abt 1857, a widow, and enumerated with son Albert Lucas (who was born in Apr of 1881 according to his 1900 Mifflin census age). Also with them is Tressie Henry, now married and enumerated as Tracie Hersh (In the 1930 census, with Albert Lucas, is nephew Robert M. Hirsh, probably a son of Tressie/Tracie). I would gather that Emma Bottorf Lucas Henry died sometime in Derry twp in the 1920's and is buried either in Derry or Armagh twp. Her son Russell Henry looks as though he has married Jeannette and they have a daughter Annabelle in the 1920 Armagh census. So, it looks as though Emma could have been born anytime from 1840 to 1859. As she is 38 in the 1880, I am guessing that is closer to the accurate birthdate, so abt 1842. Hope this helps out, Sue Original Message ----- From: "Bea and Stan Rutherford" <beair@verizon.net> To: <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com>; <pamiffli@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, September 02, 2007 1:57 PM Subject: Re: [PAMIFFLI] Christian Batdorf 1747 to 1797 Two Wives at SameTime? > Hi, > I am in search of the names of Emmeline C.
