    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: bnelson211 Surnames: Loeb, Van Flymen, Bear Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.mifflin/3109/mb.ashx Message Board Post: This is my starting point. My deceased husband was the grandson of Hilda Van Flymen(Bear). Hilda lived in Chicago and was the daughter of Bernhard and Fannie Bear. Her brothers were Arthur Bear and Alvin Bear. Her sisters were Minnie Bear and Corinne Bear. Fannie was a Loeb and was born in South Carolina. Bernhard was born in Germany. Hilda was born in Ohio. I am in possession of an extensive collection of "Bear" photogrphs that Hilda had. Unfortunatly the majority have no identification of the people in them. I find this sad, and am on a quest to correspond with anyone who has connections to the family. Please email me for additional information. 3. Are you sure about these dates? Mifflin and Juniata Counties did not exist in the mid-1700's. Mifflin Co. was created in 1789 and Juniata Co. in 1831. Also, I was wondering about whether Margaret really married at the age of 14? (born 1750, married 1764). You might want to double check your source material on these dates. 3. HI Sue... many years ago, I worked with this book, bouncing to the volume w/index, and possibly missed a family member. Since you've indexed, can you check names WILSON, and McCLAIN - GLANT is never mentioned anywhere - but ROSS is a prominent name in Mifflin Co., so I 'm sure there's entries regarding Ross. If you want to write me directly, my personal e-mail is : dgterrian@earthlink.net Thanks Sue. Hope all is good with you. It's hot here in the Orlando, FL area. Christian was born 25 Feb 1809 in Armagh Township, married Margaret Crissman around 1830, died in Siglerville in 1875. I have found records for 12 children. I've come up with some compelling reasons to believe that William Brown and Mary Steely may have been Christian's parents, but cannot verify this. Unfortunately, William Brown (born around 1785, died 1844 in Armagh Twp)did not leave a will nor could I find any land ownership transactions. Does your book have any records for parents of Christian Brown? Thanks SO much for checking on this! Barb Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
