Jim Ditsworth 6747 Auburn Rd. Rockford, IL.   61101 laddycalli@aol.com 815-963-0732 Hi  Josie, I am new at genealogy, but having fun too. My ancestors came from the Mifflin, Pa. area in the 1850's, to northwest Illinois.  All the spellings in Illinois are DITSWORTH, however, I found in your 1850 census a family of DETTEWORTH'S, that have 9 first names, that match my family tree in the 1850's   thru the 1870's.  I am assuming a spelling change happened, , though I know not why. Can / will you forward any info you can find on them?  Or tell me where to look? I am 70 years old. my Grt.-Grt.-Grt.-Grt. grandfather, was William Ditsworth (Detteworth). Born 1811 in Penn.. He had an older brother, Jacob, who was born in 1799, also in Penn.. Thank you,                 Jim Ditsworth

    3. Was browsing around the Mifflin County website yesterday and noticed that Stan is apparently connected to the Moist and McKinstry families. Was wondering who he has in those families - they are two of mine (plus Bratton, Postlethwaite and a few others). My mother was a Bratton and her mother was a Moist. I've seen your postings now and again but don't think I ever noted the connection to my families - I don't think we have corresponded about it previously. Would enjoy hearing more about your families to see if we connect. Regards. Joan Bretz
