Looking for historical info for the Searer schoolhouse in Decatur Township. Anything about it and who now owns it?
There is a slight error in the way the new link is listed below. The word "and" got added to the url by mistake, so it doesn't work. The correct url is http://www.pagenweb.org/~mifflin/. Hi Kay, Perhaps someone on the list will recognize those individuals if you post the information. You should try contacting the cemeteries and see if they have more information. Also the Mifflin County Historical Society may have more information. The details about requesting name searches of their archives is at http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~pamchs/home.htm. Click on the link for "our services" on the menu bar across the top of the home page. Maybe some others on the list will have more ideas for you. Just a reminder to the list that the Mifflin PAGenWeb is no longer held at Rootsweb. The files were moved last year, and are to be deleted from the rootsweb.ancestry server. Yes, you may still be able to access them from the old site at this time, but I do not know for how long this will last. In addition, all new material is only posted on the new server. The new address is http://www.pagenweb.org/~mifflin/ and the Archives may be found at http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/mifflin/ Thanks to Mona Anderson, many new tombstone photos may be found in the Archives. As always, thank you for your help with emails I receive as the file manager/coordinator for Mifflin County and the mailing list administrator. Josie Baughman

Hi, Sandra, I have some families in Mifflin County at the same time period. Well, actually, they had gone to Belmont County by about 1817 or so. But I was just in Salt Lake this past Monday and spent a day at the Family History Library researching some of my lines. If I see anything in my notes about your John Beatty, I'll let you know.
