I read this article in Saturday's CENTRE DAILY TIMES (State College, PA) newspaper. It is probably accessible at www.centredaily.com also. The gentlman who wrote it had been a patient there in 1955. He has started a website with information on both patients and staff at www.feltondesignanddata.com/cressontbsanatoriumremembered He would like anyone who has ties to the facility to contact him at charlesfelton@earthlink.net He has also stated that anything on the website is for public use and has given permission to anyone to download items of interest. I have no interest or anything to gain by posting this information. I posted it for general information purposes.

Gwartney of Kilgore and set out their known heirs was filed in GREGG COUNTY Court Tuesday. The Gwartneys and their three children, all of Kilgore, were killed in a two-car collision on June 29, in East Oklahoma while on vacation trip. It was the first time in the recollection of long-time employees of the County Clerk's offices, that a Will had been handled in which all the testators (or principals) died simutaneously. The Gwartneys, Robert R. and Sue Kyle, had stipulated in their joint Will, dated July 8, 1965, that whoever survived the other would be independent executor or executrix, but in the event their deaths occurred simultaneously, their daughter, Melanie Carol, if she were 21 years old, would be appointed independent executrix. If she had not reached that age, they stipulated that attorney John W. Ford execute the Will, and if not he, then attorney Robert G. Schleier. Melanie Carol, 18, together with Robert R. Gwartney III, 12, and Colleen K., 10, died in the auto crash with their parents. Ford filed application that the Will be admitted to probate and that Letters Testamentary be issued him, since the three children had been named heirs to the estate valued at more than $10,000. The amended application set out the known heirs of Dr. Gwartney, a 43 year old dentist, as two brothers, Reginald Ray Gwartney, Route 3, Gravette, Ark. and Kenneth Lee Gwartney, Route 1, Biggs, Calif.; two sisters, Verla Ann Manx, Route 1, Diamond, MO, and Viola Lorens Finley, Wichita, Kans. Mrs. Gwartney's known heirs listed in the amended application were her mother, Mrs. Icie Kate Kyle, Marshall; three brothers, J.P. Kyle, Port Arthur; Alfred A. Kyle, Delhi, La;, Mike Kyle, Elysian Fields, Texas; two sisters, Mozelle Chappell, Pasadena, Texas and Libby Elsbury, Mount Pleasant. (Kilgore, Marshall, Texarkana, Pasadena, Elysian Fields, and Mount Pleasant are all cities in Texas) Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hello Fellow Listers: Searching for parents, birthdate, deathdate, burial place, and children of Hugh DALRYMPLE (b.1776 in Ireland d.ca.1860 in/near Lack Twp., Juniata Co., PA.). Hugh was from Derry County, Ireland. In his Naturalization and Oath of Allegiance record he reported that he "is 53 years of age and emigrated on 23-Jun-1800 from Londonderry and landed at Philadelphia [PA.] in Sep-1800. He was by business a laborer and had resided in Mifflin County [now Juniata Co.] ever since in the township of Lack." He made this oath of citizenship on 7-Sep-1832. Hugh and his wife, J_____ (b.ca.1774) and his children, M_____ (b.1805), Jane (b.1808), E_____ (b.1810), Ann (b.1815), H_____ (b.1817) [may be Hugh] were residing in Lack Twp., Juniata Co., PA. in 1850. Hugh was listed as being born in Ireland, having personal property of $200 and was a farmer. They were living next door to my ancestors, Peter Barnhart TAYLOR who married Martha Mary Catherine DALRYMPLE (b.1817 d/o Hugh and J.). [Note: All of the children were listed as females on the 1850 census, but I feel that the "H." is actually a son by the name of Hugh.] Hugh's estate located in Lack Twp., Juniata Co. was sold on 10-Mar-1860 to Samuel CAMPBELL for $400.50. Hugh's funeral was handled by J.A. FURGESON and his coffin was made by James WILSON. Thanks for any suggestions or help with this search! Donna Heller Zinn of Newville, Cumberland Co., PA.

Kistler is a VILLAGE just about a mile or so from Mt. Union. Mt. Union is "funny" because part of it is in Mifflin County and part of it is in Huntingdon County, but KISTLER IS IN MIFFLIN. It's just outside the entrance to the American Legion Country Club golf course grounds. --- On Fri, 11/27/09, gc-gateway@rootsweb.com <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> wrote: From: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> Subject: Re: [PAMIFFLI] Mifflin County look up To: PAMIFFLI-L@rootsweb.com Date: Friday, November 27, 2009, 11:59 AM This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list.
