Author: IanGerard65 Surnames: Shimp Durboraw Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.mifflin/3183/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Trying to narrow down my search for my GGGG Grandfather Jacob Shimp. Jacob was born in Sep 1815 according to the 1900 census and died in 1903 in Chester Delaware County PA. Since the Death records for this time and place have been lost I am trying to work back from what little I do have. I know Jacob married Lydia Durborow abt 1836 or 1837 wether or not this was in Gainesville or Chester I am not sure of yet but I suspect Gainesville as I think my Jacob is the one on the 1840 Gainesville census. They had 4 children. Emma W. Shimp born 1837-1838 Parker Shimp 1844 Caroline Shimp 1845 Mary Shimp 1858 On the 1850 Census they appear with the name Shimp. In 1860 they appear with the name Shemp in Chester. If anything seems familliar or anyone has any info that could put me on the right track to looking in the right place I sure would appreciate it. Thanks Ian. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
