Author: lesslie88 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.mifflin/1255.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi Tink, your response was very informative, to say the least! Oh, what a mystery this is! To hear the story of an Indian ancestor has always intrigued my family, and so that became a major part of this ancestry search. Now, to know there are so many others seeking the same answer, but by different branches of the family tree, makes it all the better! I haven't had a chance to read the book yet, and only know of it through other email refererences. I definitely will get my hands on it now! The one source I did read was the History of Madera. That states that Sarah was the daughter od Oskinaway, but then again, was that only because of a story handed down by word of mouth???? Speaking of which... when my mother told me the story of the Indian, she told me she was "from the tribe in Oklahoma with all the oil wells", the Utes. Now I wonder where she got that! To see the Algonquin reference triggered something else I had heard. I think it was my cousin who had been researching a Civil War connection, and found something to that fact. Now I'll have to ask him more about it. How do I get a copy of the picture? I'm very much intrigued by it. Again, thank you so much for your input. I'll definitely let you know if I hear anything new. Debbie Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.mifflin/51.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello! I see that you related to John Adams and John Quincy Adams. I am looking for their decendents as my mother's side is said to be decendents as well (and are also from Iowa). Not sure if this helps, but my grandparents are David and Janette Baril of Martelle, Iowa (both deceased). I assume the connection is with the Baril side as my grandfather looks just like John Adams! Pretty wild. But just in case, my grandmother's maiden name was Parker. I do not yet have info on lineage above them. Hope this helps... if you know of connections, please let me know. Thank you!
