The first person in this line I have is Benjamin Hall born around 1760 in Ireland who came to PA with a Aunt, a Mrs McGrady(McCready) around age 16. He served in the Rev War for 1 year, was trained as a weaver in Ireland but was a farmer in PA. He married a distant cosine, Mary Catherine (or the other way around) McGrady. She was born in Pa. We think she might of also been related to the Aunt Benjamin Hall came to the United States with. We belive they married in Mifflin Co, Pa and know that's where their kids were born. Their names and wife's are: James/Mary Jenks, John/Polly Kelly, Johnson/Mary ?, Benjamin/Mary Gladney Ward, William/?, Thomas/?, Henry/ Mary Fertig and Robert/Betsy Silverthorne. My line is from Johnson Hall and I also have the son Benjamin's line down to present. If you need some more info let me know if you think there might be a connection. I have no information on Mary McGrady or her fam! ily. I also have little info on Benjamin Hall. Does any of this info or names ring a bell with you? Could there be a connection to your line of Halls? If not, in your research have you run across them and could you give me some leads as where to look. I have been looking for them for quite some time and finding very little. My e-mail is: erb_kris@hotmail.com I will look forward to any reply. Fellow genealogists and anyone concerned with preserving our sacred cemeteries, The History Channel and Time Warner are sponsoring a 'Save Our History' grant award for which anyone can go online and cast their vote. Voting ends THIS FRIDAY April 27th, so time is short. We were fortunate that our restoration project was chosen as a finalist. The JCOGS is the only genealogy society or cemetery project to be chosen as one of the five finalists, so I truly hope that you will go to the Time Warner website and cast your vote for the James Cemetery project. If awarded this grant, we will use 100% of the grant to begin installing an antique-style aluminum alloy fence around the perimeter in order to help halt further desecration of this sacred and historic burial ground. You can read more about our James Cemetery project at the Time Warner 'Save Our History' voting website. Please unite with us as a group of genealogists concerned about the ever-increasing destruction of our cemeteries by VOTING for us at the website below. And note also that ANYONE with Internet access can VOTE so please forward this email to your genealogy circle of friends and ask THEM to vote too! Is anyone researching this family? James McClure (c. 1745-1816) and wife (name unknown, perhaps a Scott) came to the Mifflin Co. area by 1770. His wife was deceased when he wrote his will in 1816. They had 6 children: 1. Elizabeth McClure b. 8 March 1768; married Robert Alexander in 1790. Their son Silas Alexander (b. 30 Sept 1807) married Rachel Longwell, his first cousin. Rachel was the daughter of Elizabeth's sister Margaret and her husband Thomas Long well. See #4 below. 2. James McClure, Jr., b. before 1774; married before 1816 Elizabeth (maiden name unknown, perhaps it was Scott) 3. Isabella McClure b. before 1776; married before 1816 David Reynolds. I think David Reynolds moved to Armstrong Co., PA. 4. Margaret McClure b. ca 1776; married before 1816 Thomas Longwell. They lived in Mifflin Co. all their lives. Their daughter Rachel married her first cousin Silas Alexander. 5. Nancy McClure b. ca 1783; married James Brown. 6. Mary McClure b. 1784-1789; married a John McClure. I do not know if they were related or not as I have been unable to identify who this John McClure was. Any help filling in the holes on James McClure, his wife, and their married children would be appreciated. I have the most information on their daughter Margaret who married Thomas Longwell. My husband descends from their son Thomas Longwell, Jr., who married Elizabeth Crissman. Helen Graves

I have no info on the parentage of the Mary 'Polly' Smith who married Daniel Beshoar - other than she is of Irish lineage - so it would probably "fit" that she is a daughter of George and Mary Buffington Smith (my info on them is from a White County, Indiana, History Book entry on their son, Hiram). Both Daniel and Mary are buried in the Old Burnettsville Cemetery in White Co, IN. Hiram Smith and his wife, Emma Mertz, are buried at the Davis Cemetery near Burnettsville (listed as Cass Co - just over the county line from White Co). I am happy to share my genealogy report on Mary and Daniel Beshoar (Daniel was previously married to a Susanna Rothrock, sister to my ancestor, Asenath Rothrock.).
