    1. [PAMIFFLI] Needed: advice on Mifflin/Cumberland/Lancaster Co. sources and repositories
    2. Linda Vixie
    3. I'm planning to go to the FGS conference in Philadelphia in September, then go out and do some additional research on my colonial central Pennsylvania families. I would like to get some advice about which repositories to visit and which record types are available. I've used the Pennsylvania Archives series and other sources that are more widely available. The William Masden (also Masdon, Marsdon) family left Philadelphia County sometime during or after 1771 and was known to be in Derry Twp., Lancaster (now Dauphin) County from 1773 until 1777. >From 1778 to his death in 1796 William was in what is now Oliver Twp., Mifflin County. It was Derry Twp., Cumberland County, when he moved there. Thank you very much for any advice you can give or directions you can point me in. I can provide more info on what I have if that would be useful. If I can help you with Colorado research, I'll be happy to. Thank you very much! 3. Hello, I'm trying to trace back our James YEAGER'S ancestry. James was born 1849 in Richfield, Juniata Co. His father was Jacob YEAGER born c1820 and living in Greenwood Twp., Juniata Co. near his father-in-law, George KREPS. Jacob's wife was Hannah. I found an Adam YEAGER in Greenwood Twp, Mifflin Co. in 1830 and am wondering if he is Jacob YEAGER'S father. I understand Juniata Co. was formed from part of Mifflin Co. Also, sometime before 1870 James YEAGER changed his name to John Benjamin ADAMS and also named his 1st child Adam. Regards, Joan

    1. [PAMIFFLI] At least three Samuel Whartons
    2. Good morning I neglected to mention in my post that there were several Samuel Whartons in the Mifflin/Huntingdon Counties. There was a land speculator and two with sons by the name of James. The one I am looking for resided in the Shirley area. Even then I have to be careful to not confuse the land developer of Philadelphia with the farmer. Carolee California **************It's Tax Time! Gross in PA. According to their headstones Henry was born 1843, and Harriet was born 1840. I find them in the 1880 Indiana census with children Sarah, Jane, Roscoe, Ida, and two Anna's ages 13 and 7...I'm thinking one might have been a Hannah. All parties on census listed place of birth as PA. Assuming they would have been married around 1863 and moved to Indiana around 1879 since the youngest child on the census was 2 and born in PA.
