I'm looking for a Godfrey Stutzman, Johannes Stutzman, or Adam Stutzman in Mifflin Co. These were brothers and sons of Christian Stutzman of Berks Co. I think Godfrey (Gottfried) may have been in York Co. about 1820, but think he died in Mifflin Co. about 1830. These Stutzmans mentioned above are of the Evangelical Lutheran branch. I believe the Abraham and Daniel Stutzman (Stutsman/Stootsman) who appear in the 1820 census are from the Amish/Mennonite branch.

in the 1820 Mifflin county censuses are Michael and John Stutsman. In the 1820 and 1830 Derry twp censuses is Abraham Stootsman/Sturtsman and in the 1830 Wayne twp is Daniel Stootsman. on page 646 of the History of the Susquehanna and Juniata Valleys, it mentions that Abraham Stutzman sold on October 8, 1836, 147 acres of the original 1766 Joseph Swift land tract of 325 acres, to Joseph Trumbull. i on page 649 of the same book, it says that in 1831, Daniel Stutzman purchased part of the original 1796 Charles Cox land tract (the part which was sold by Cox to James Alexander). Daniel Stutzman sold this same land in 1833. In the 1830 Wayne twp census, Daniel is living next door to Henry Stutzman.
