    3. 1900 Wayne twp census Jacob H. born Nov, 1848 Sarah E., January, 1854 Edward A., April, 1875 (married Susan) Cora E., February, 1877 Mina or Minnie B. February, 1881 Mary, May, 1887 Homer W., April, 1890 hard-to- read son's name, born December, 1892 Ivy S., September, 1895 Andrew E., March, 1898 Jacob is with his parents in the 1850 Cass twp, Huntingdon county, Pa census: Samuel, 41 Jemima, 31 Solomon, 14 Dorcas, 11 David, 9 Elizabeth, 6 Jacob, 2 and in the 1860 Wayne twp, Mifflin census: Jacob has miraculously aged 14 years in the 10-year-span and he has a younger brother in 1860 named Walter, aged 14 (Unfortunately Walter was not anywhere in evidence in the 1850 census, so suspect he was born about 1850). Sarah E. Shade is a daughter of William and Isabella Shade. William Shade is a son of John and Mary (Shoemaker) Shade, both born in Berks county. The Shade family was originally Schadt and Sarah's ancestors were from Berlin, Germany. Hope this helps out

He was born November 25, 1841 and died in 1936. He lived in Ryde all of his life and was married to Sarah "Sadie" (Shade) Harshbarger. I believe she died in 1922. He had a son named Homer Wayne Harshbarger who was married to Nellie (Casner) Harshbarger. They had a son named Jesse. According to his obituary, he was a canal boatman in his early life, a woodsman, a farmer, a hunter and a fisherman of note. I would appreciate any information. Thank you.

    3. List, I've found that while obituaries are only shown on The Sentinel's site (Lewistown, Mifflin County, PA) for 31 days, it seems that The Sentinel holds obituaries on their server longer then the 31 days. You can manipulate the date using this url and find obituaries from almost a year ago. http://lewistownsentinel.com/obituary/obituaries.asp?postdate=10/7/2003 Just change the date in the url and it should work for you. (Doing this today, I was able to find obituaries posted from 10/7/2003 to current date.....) He was the son of John and Rachel (Johnston) Henry. Rachel died shortly after the birth of her 8th child about 1843. John and his children ended up in Indiana county, PA. Jeremiah lived and raised his family in Montgomery twp, Indiana county. I am not sure if there is a connection with your Samuel Johnston and Catherine Henry but I believe there very well may be. I need to know more about where they moved to in Indiana county. Do you have any information on where they lived in Mifflin county? Do you know any of the names of their other children besides William? I am very anxious to hear back from you on this.
