    3. This is a thank you to Tim and Jana Dress who traveled to a cemetery in Milroy, Mifflin Co., and took photos of gravestones belonging to my husband's family. He didn't even know the names of his grandparents when I started genealogy in 2000; now he knows when they were born and died. Plus he also has information about several uncles and a cousin. Tim and Jana did a deliberate act of genealogical kindness, nothing random about it! There still are kind people in this world. Donna L. 3. Matila Furnace is in Wayne Township. There's no guarantee Samuel Hughes was buried in that township, but checking the MCHS Cemetries of Mifflin County surname index at http://www.rootsweb.com/~pamiffli/mchs-cems.html I find Hughes entries for W 3 and 4. Those are 3. Atkinson's Mills Methodist 4. Wayne Methodist and those cemeteries are covered in Vol. II of the book. The lookup list is here http://www.rootsweb.com/~pamiffli/lookups.html Hope this helps, and that it turns out he was buried in one of these two places. I am now attempting to figure out the line of the son David born in 1777. A couple people have theorized that he had a son named Isaac Burr who married Mary Gilham. Has anyone ran across that information? I am very interested in hearing about the David Burr who you mention. My gggg Jane Burr and husband Benjamin Pearson came to Flushing, Belmont Co., and then Jane Burr eventually followed her son William S. Pearson to Palmyra, Warren Co., Iowa and was a member of the Three Rivers MM and is buried at the Middle River Friends Cemetery in Palmyra. Please let me hear from all who are researching David Burr.

    3. Judy, I have a Henry (Harry) Diffenderfer in my family tree. He was born abt 1860 in PA, and burned to death in Colorado. He was the son of Samuel and Mary (Kimberly) Diffenderfer of Allensville,Mifflin Co., PA. Samuel Diffenderfer was a brother to Aaron Diffenderfer (my gr.gr.grandfather). Their parents were Stephen and Rachel (Lockman) Diffenderfer. Could this be the same Henry in your line? I traced the family a bit just out of curiosity and to help a distant cousin, and found that most of the Diffenderfers (spelled an extraordinary number of ways!) were from Lehigh county. You might want to post your info to the Lehigh list, too, if nobody subbed to the Mifflin list can identify the family.
