    3. Linda, I'm not sure I've written you in the past, but I have KAUFFMAN'S in my family. I have a Margaret Kauffman married about 1868 to William Watson Crimmel. This family lived in Juniata County, PA. Margaret Kauffman Crimmel is buried in Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery in Mifflintown. Her father was John G. and mother was Sarah Cargill. Her sibblings were James, Christian, Franklin, Alton, Clara, Joseph and Mary. Quite a bit of this information came out of Amish and Amish Mennonite Genealogies by Gingerich and Kreider. You might look in that book for some of your family. There were a lot of Kauffman's in Walker Township during this time. I also have a Solomon Kauffman born in the late 1700's married to Magdalena Hostetler. Magdalena's father was Henry Hostetler and mother was Anna Renno. Henry died in Juniata County. I have no other information on Solomon. This information also came out of the Amish book. You might want to explore the Amish information. My early Kauffman's seemed to be of this faith. No Obituary for William, earliest Briggs obit found was for Priscilla in 1877. No tombstone, No marriage license for a William Briggs. There are NO wills for the surname Briggs listed between 1789 - 1900 in all of Mifflin County. No reference to him in any of the newspaper articles before or after 1850. He is not listed as a Grantee on any land records in Mifflin County in 1850 or earlier. Based on the census records he vanished between summer of 1850, and about Oct. 1854. The only possible clue I did find was an early marriage (*and it would be a long shot) listed as follows: "Mr. Briggs married Miss Howell both of Perryville, on 15th inst. by Rev. S.M. Smucker....Oct.22,1845 SOURCE: Lewistown Republican newspaper ( *NOTE: this is present day Port Royal, Juniata County,Pa.which is beside Mifflin and Huntingdon Counties.) There were two early Briggs marriages I did find: " John Hoover, Dry Valley (*now Burnham,Pa) md. Jane Briggs, Waynesburg (*now McVeytown,Pa) April 26,1832"..(*both locations are in Mifflin County,Pa) "Daniel Brighs & Mary Ann Thompson, both of Kishacoquillas Valley ( *now Belleville,Pa) Feb. 24,1835" (*Waynesburg and Kishacoquillas Valley are both on the end of Mifflin County that is nearest to Huntingdon County) Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Also interested in Charles T. Fulper who married Sarah Hoppock. With the exception of a Michael Fulper, 1741, we do not have any names of our Fulpers that came from Germany or Holland. Would appreciate any information on these families. Thanks for your help. Edna K. Fulper

    3. Thomas Otis Bruner, born March 4, 1902 in Alabama, was a son of Amos and Clara Bruner, who married about 1902. They moved to Florida and had son Benjamin in 1910. The 1900 Granger, Henry, Alabama census shows: Caswell, Bruner, widower, born Apr, 1852 in Alabama of parents who were both born in Georgia. Jessee, son, January, 1877, Alabama Hattie, daughter, June, 1883, Alabama Amos, son, December, 1885, Alabama Walter, son, February, 1891, Alabama Thelma, daughter, May, 1893, Alabama Immediately next door is Daniel Bruner, born April, 1875 and his wife Nancy (born april, 1879) with their 3 children Cay (?) son, born Sep, 1893; Archie (born March, 1895); and Willie (born March, 1899) - all members of this family were born in Alabama. ________________ 1880 Gordon, Henry, Alabama Archy Bruner, 56, born in Georgia of parents who were also both born in Georgia Amsey, 59, born in Ga of Ga-born parents Green, son 26, born in Florida Sarah, 18, born Ala William, 17, born Ala Archey, 15, born Ala Maxey, 13, born Ala Immediately next door is son Caswell Browner, age 32, born in Georgia of parents who were both born in Georgia Mary A., wife, 32, born Alabama of paretns who were both born in Florida Ellen, 13 Ala Daniel, 7 Ala Ada, 6, Ala Ella, 5, Ala Jessee, 3, Ala Nat, 7 months old, Ala ________________ 1870 1st Preceinct, Henry, Alabama census Caswell Breuner, 28 Mar, 22 Jane, 3 (her full name must have been Jane Ellen or Ellen Jane as she is 'Ellen', age 13 in 1880 census) Julia, 1 (must die before 1880) 1870 3rd Precinct, Henry, Alabama census Archibald Bruner, 50, b. Living nearby is Archie's brother John and his wife Parmelia and their family _________________- 1850 Division 93, Wilkinson, Georgia census Archibald Bruner, 23, born Georgia Amsey, 21, born Georgia Carswell, 2, born Georgia Living in the same precinct are Archie's brothers and their families: John & Parmelia, William & Sarah, and Daniel & Elizabeth. ____________________ the only Bruners living in Wilkinson county, Georgia in 1840 are William Bruner, aged 50-60 with 2 sons aged 10-15 and 1 son aged 20-30; William J Bruner lives immediately next door, aged 20-30 with no sons. And immediately next door to William Sr. on his other side is John Bruner, aged 20-30 with another male in the household (brother? or just hired help?) aged 10-15. William Bruner the elder is also in Wilkinson county in both the 1820 and 1830 censuses, but the name is spelled Brewner in both censuses. It seems fairly obvious that Archibald Bruner was one of the sons of Williams Bruner of Georgia who was born sometime between 1780 and 1790. Looking through some of the various postings on the net, William Mr. Bruner was born about 1786 in Georgia and married an Elizabeth Nixon. Their son Daniel married Elizabeth Johns. Their son William J (Joshua) married Sarah Thigpen. Their son John married Parmelia. Their daughter Elizabeth married Francis I. Johns. And their son Archibald married Amsey C. Moore on December 10, 1846 in Wilkinson, Georgia. Hope this all helps, Sue

    1. Greenwood, Juniata
    2. My apologies because I have asked this question before, but I am still very confused as to how to obtain the info I need. I want to know (1) How John R. Ferguson aquired the property that he lived on in 1850 in Greenwood twp, Juniata Co. His PA ancestors still live on the property. I believe that he inherited the land that may have been deeded when Greewood was part of Mifflin. The address is now RR1 Thompsontown PA 17094 (2) who owned the property in 1807 It is my belief that John Ferguoson inherited the land btw 1850 and 1860. However, I don't know if it was through the death of his father, a relative or if he bought it. One reason for my confusion is where some of my info came from. e.g. I was told there is a book of early land surveys in Juniata County archives, there is an 1807 survey of two tracts of land to the heirs of Jos. Ferguson in right of Ferguson v. Leech c. As we know, Greenwood, Juniata was part of Mifflin at that time and not Juniata so I just don't know where to begin to find proof of this document. Also: He cites a legal document dated 1807 regarding a land warrant dated 1792 as proof that Joseph Ferguson owned land in Greenwood Twp., Juniata Co.: 98a.105 - "Heirs of FERGUSON in right of Ferguson v. Leech c" Surveyed 15 & 16 June 1807 "Draught of part of a survey made on two warrants to Jos. Ferguson & <unreadable>. The above is that part belonging to the heirs of Ferguson. One is for 160 acres & the other for 40, dated 11th August 1792." Thank you for any suggestons Moria
