My grandmother on my father's side was Mora Lodema Strubel, b. 5-14-1890. Her father, my g-grandfather, was Frederick Melvin Strubel, b. 5-31-1864, d. 1-29-1942. My grandmother's mother (wife of Frederick) was Imogene Strubel (maiden name not known), b. 2-3-1867, d. 1-29-1942. My grandmother's grandfather (father of Frederick) was Martin Strubel, b. 4-1-1825 (born six miles from Newton, Sussex County, New Jersey, d. 1-5-1918 in Bryan, Ohio)...those family members mentioned above, listed before Martin, were from Mercer, Pennsylvania, as far as I know. My grandmother's brothers and sisters were: 1) Mary Strubel, b. 5-20-1886, d. 2-3-1974 (she married a man named Charles Jennings, with whom she had three sons, two of whom were named Myron and Eddie Jennings...third son's name is not known); 2) Vera Strubel, b. 12-19-1894, d. 1-30-1986 (she married a man named William Ebbert); and 3) David Strubel, b. 12-22-1899, d. 1-18-62 (he married a woman named Bea). My grandmother (Mora Strubel) had two children: 1) John James Meyers, b. 1-20-20 in Pittsburgh, d. 1-6-79 in Redlands, CA; and 2) Jean (spelled "Gene" in family bible) Elizabeth Meyers, b. 5-16-16, Pittsburgh, d. 1-16-85 in Portland, Oregon. Mora's husband was named John James Meyers, and was believed to have been from Pittsburgh b. 5-5-1884, d. 1932. I hope this information helps anyone seeking information about Strubels from Mercer and Venango County (and possibly relatives of John James Meyers of Allegheny County (husband of my grandmother, Mora Strubel)).
