Hi, I am trying to locate my great grandmother's family. Her name was Ida Caroline NELSON (May 1, 1862 - Feb. 9, 1947). I was told that her father died in the Civil War at Andersonville Prison. When her mother remarried her stepfather did not want the children so they were sent to an orphanage. When she was 17 or so she was sent to work on a farm where she met her husband Charles David MOOK. They ended up living in Crawford Co. but her obit says she was from Mercer Co. Would anyone have this Ida NELSON on their list? Would anyone know of any orphanage in the area and would there be records for the children that lived there? Thanks for your help, Cindy Crytzer
